Feelings In A Dream

When I woke up in my classroom, I had to see her. I thought about the realization I made yesterday and the desire to see her only grew. I quickly stood up and walked to her room. I opened the door a little rougher than normal, making Abby jump.

"Zac," she chuckled. "You scared me."

I walked over to her, grabbed her face, and pressed my lips to hers. I felt her suck in a surprised gasp as she slowly started moving her lips in sync with mine.

"Zac," she moaned against my lips. "We're. . . School. . . The kids. . ."

I broke the kiss and leaned my forehead against hers as we caught our breaths.

"What has gotten into you?" She whispered.

"I'm sorry," I stuttered. "I had to. . . I had another dream."

"Oh?" She asked, leaning back. "And what happened in this dream?"

"I lost you," I said under my breath. "You got into an accident and. . . The second I woke up, I rushed here. I had to see you."

"Zac," she said as she reached up and gently cupped my face in her hands. "Look at me."

I looked into her eyes, opening and closing my mouth. "Baby, I'm okay. You're right here. We didn't have a falling out. I wasn't in an accident on my way to work. I don't know what's going on with these crazy dreams, but they are just that. Dreams."

"I'm sorry," I sighed.

"The next time you wake up from one of these oddly vivid dreams, call me."

"Even if it's early?"

"Of course," she chuckled. She reached up and wrapped her arms around my neck. "That's what we do for each other. That or I sleep on your couch and talk you down from these crazy dreams."

"Or you could sleep next to me."

Our eyes widened as we looked at each other and thought about what I just blurted out. I opened my mouth to explain, but the bell rang. We cleared our throats and stepped away from each other as the students started coming in.

"I should. . ." I stuttered.

"Yep," she nodded. I was about to walk away but stopped. I turned back towards her and pressed a small kiss to her lips.

"We'll talk later."

Abby didn't come to my room during lunch. As I waited for her, I thought about my outburst this morning. I didn't think before confessing that I wanted to wake up next to her.

I went through the rest of the day, wanting to run across the hall and explain everything. Resisting the urge to do so got incredibly hard. When the final bell rang, I let out a sigh of relief.

I stood up and was about to go talk to Abby. I turned towards the door, instantly smiling when I saw her already standing there.

"Hey," she said slowly.

"Hi," I sighed. "Look about what I said this morning. . ."

Abby laughed as she walked over and instantly wrapped her arms around my neck.

"It's okay," she said gently. "I wouldn't mind waking up next to you and soothing you down after your most recent crazy dream."

I smiled as I leaned down and pressed my lips to hers. I felt her smile as I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer to me. I broke the kiss and pressed my nose to hers.

"I have some projects I need to finish grading," I whispered.

"So do I."

We spent the next little while, sitting on the couch in the back of my room, grading. I glanced over at her, my heart skipping a beat when I saw her 'thinking face'.

She looked up at me, blushing when she caught me staring. "What?" Abby laughed.

"I love you," I blurted out. Her eyes widened before filling with tears.

"I love you too," she chuckled.

I leaned over and pressed my lips to hers. I felt her smile as our lips started moving in sync. I reached up and grabbed her face as the kiss got more heated.

I broke the kiss and leaned my forehead against hers. "You should be kissed every day, every hour, every minute," I whispered.

Before she could respond, I pressed my lips back to hers. I couldn't stop myself as I pushed our papers off of our laps and laid us down. Abby moaned as I hovered over her, our lips moving messily in sync. I broke the kiss, out of breath, and started kissing her neck.

"Oh Zac," she moaned. "We really shouldn't be doing this here, baby."

"Then where should we be doing this?" I asked, still kissing her neck. She gasped when I bit down on her sweet spot.

"Your place."
