You were walking to school alone when u felt a tap on your shoulder.
"Hey Y/N, good morning."
You immediately had a wide smile on your face as u saw your childhood best friend, Chou Tzuyu.
"Hey Tzuyu, good morning."
You guys were just walking to school together, talking about some events that had happened at school.
Of course u had always treated Tzuyu as your best friend, well HAD.
Why had? Well...

U had invited Tzuyu to your house to hangout, it was just a day of watching movies, playing games with her until u noticed that she had fell asleep on your shoulder.
For some reason, your heart suddenly started beating fast and your face began to heat up upon the close contact she had with u.
From that day on, u kept thinking about her no matter how hard u had tried to shrug it off.
No matter how much u tried to deny in your mind that u were not in love with your best friend, u just couldn't lie to yourself.

Since then, u kept your feelings for Tzuyu hidden since firstly u didn't want to ruin your friendship between the two of u and well secondly...

"Hey babe."

Yup Tzuyu has a boyfriend named Jungkook.
Jeon Jungkook, the most popular guy in school who had the looks, the type of face that many girls would fall for.
Of course, when u first found out that Tzuyu was dating him u had to put on a happy face for her but internally u were crying.
But u couldn't show it since it would potentially ruin your friendship.
"Hey Y/N."
"Hey Jungkook."
"Hey Y/N, me and Jungkook are going on date later, is it ok if u go home alone later?" Tzuyu asked
"Of course, go ahead." U said but u felt like your heart was getting crushed
"Thanks, Y/N. I really appreciate it."
"Its alright."
After that, Jungkook went to his class while u and Tzuyu were walking to your class.
But u couldn't help but stay silent along the way due to the heartache u were experiencing.
Tzuyu noticed your silence and asked "Hey
Y/N, u alright? Why are u so quiet now?"
"Oh I'm alright, just thinking about some things now."
"Is it important, u can share with me if u want to. After all, u were the one who was always giving me a listening ear whenever I had a problem since we were kids."
"Nah, it's nothing important and besides u are my best friend since elementary school of course I will listen to whatever problems u have."
Upon hearing that, Tzuyu broke into a wide smile.
Although she didn't show it, she was always grateful for u being there.
Always showing your support for her.
Always protecting her from any harm
And always being there for her whenever she needed u.
Five hours later
You were just spending time alone at home since your parents were on a overseas trip.
U couldn't help but think of Tzuyu the whole day ever since u got home.
When suddenly..

"Ring ring,ring ring."
You heard your phone ring and seeing that it was Tzuyu, u immediately picked it up.
"Hey Tzuyu, what's up?"
"Sniff.. Y/N."
U heard her crying and was immediately worried for her.
"Hey Tzuyu, is everything alright, why are u crying?"
"Can we please meet up, right now at the park near your house?"
"I'll be right there."
U immediately ran to the park and was searching for Tzuyu.
But u immediately stopped in your tracks when u saw Tzuyu crying in the middle of the park.
U ran to her and hugged her to try and comfort her.
"Hey Tzuyu, everything's gonna be alright, I'm here for u."
"Sniff.. Sniff, Y/N."
U wanted to know what had happened to her but of course, keeping her calm was your first priority at that moment.
After 5 minutes, she stopped crying but had occasional sniffs, u brought her to your house to settle down.
"Alright Tzuyu, what happened, why did u cry?"
"Jungkook, he... he broke up with me."
At that moment, u felt happy but sad at the same time.
U were happy because she had finally broke up with Jungkook but u were sad because Tzuyu was not looking the best.
"What.. why? Didn't u guys just went on a date?"
"We did but halfway the date he started talking about u and through the topic, he told me to stop being friends with u."
"What, why? Why would he do that?"
"He felt that we were too close and I was spending lesser time with him, but of course I couldn't just stop being friends with u after all that u had done for me, so I just told him no and well u know what happened next."
U felt angry about what Jungkook had done to her but couldn't help but feel happy that Tzuyu insisted on being friends with u instead of agreeing to Jungkook's stupid request.
U went and hugged Tzuyu and said " Hey Tzuyu, do u want me to talk to Jungkook tomorrow? I can help u mend your relationship with him."
Of course, u didn't want to do it but it was all for the sake of Tzuyu.
"It's ok, Y/N, maybe I shouldn't have gotten together with him in the first place."
"But.."
"It's really alright Y/N, right now I just want to spend some time with u."
U immediately felt a rush of happiness in your body when she said that and immediately thought of something.
"Hey Tzuyu, wanna have a sleepover at my house? It's been a while since we did it."
"Sure Y/N, I missed it, let me call my parents and asked them for permission."
After asking her parents, they agreed to it and u guys played games, watched movies, talked about some random stuff but one thing was for sure.

That night was one of the best ones that u had.
One week had passed and u finally had the courage to confess to Tzuyu.
U were planning to confess to her on the school rooftop since it would just be the two of u.
But one day...
U was opening your locker and had dropped your own personal journal on the floor which Tzuyu had picked up.
"Oh Y/N, u dropped something on the floor."
U immediately panicked and said "Oh, ermm I did, can u give it back to me."
Tzuyu sensed that u were panicking and asked "Why are u so nervous? Is something inside this journal?"
"No it's nothing, please give it back to me."
But instead of giving it back, Tzuyu did the worst thing that u feared.

She opened your journal and as she read the contents, she went wide eyed and looked at u as u had your face down.
Because, the journal had all the writings of your feelings for her.
But the most shocking one was your writing of your feelings u first developed for her.
January 23rd 2020, never would I had expected in a million years that I would be in love with my one and only best friend, Chou Tzuyu. Indeed, she was my best friend but for some reason, I just can't seem to get her out of my mind for even a second these days. I'm seeing her wherever I go, whatever I do and whenever I sleep too. But of course, I have to be the one who keeps his feelings to himself because she has a boyfriend already. Even if she doesn't, it doesn't mean that my feelings for her will potentially ruin our friendship. But if i ever get the chance to tell her my feelings for her, I would just tell her this three words "I love u."
"Y/N... I.. I don't know what to say." Tzuyu said.
Darn it, I wasn't supposed to confess my feeling for her this way. Tsk, well here goes nothing." You thought.
"Well.. I... ermm yeah i like u Tzuyu since three years ago. I really like u."
Tzuyu gasped when u confessed to her.
"And no it isn't because u broke up with Jungkook already but I just couldn't get u out of my mind ever since the day we had a sleepover at my house."
"Y/N... I.."
"I know it's really sudden, but would u give me chance to be there for u, to show my love for u?"

Time was passing by but she wasn't replying to u.
U were nervously waiting for her reply, hoping that she would accept your feelings for her when suddenly she said.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I can't."
At that moment, u felt like the entire world was against u as u felt your heart ache.
"But.. why.. Tzuyu?"
"Because... I only treat u as a best friend who shows me support and the care that I need."

In the end, after all u did for her. She only treated u as her best friend and nothing more.
But that wasn't what had made u feel sad but she only took a few fucking seconds to reject u without even considering about it.
U then felt your vision getting cloudy as your eyes were producing tears.
U tried to hold it back but couldn't help it as one fell out of your eyes after another.
"I see... it's alright. We will still be best friends after this. Ermm, I need to be somewhere else... I'll see u tomorrow." U said as u left the school just leaving Tzuyu alone at the locker.
"STUPID, STUPID WHY WASN''T I MORE CAREFUL, NOW THE ONLY HEARTBROKEN ONE IS ME." U thought in your mind.
U were trying to hold back your emotions on the way home as u tried to wipe the tears that were slowly coming down your cheeks.
But once u reached home into your room, u let your tears roll down freely as u broke down in sadness.
Tzuyu wasn't feeling good about it too as she wasn't expecting your feeling for her.
"Y/N, I'm sorry, I'm really sorry but it's just that I really don't have that kind of feelings for u." She thought
However, remembering the way that u cried in front of her made her break down in tears as she didn't see u broke down like that before.
"Im really sorry Y/N." She thought as she broke down in tears.
