Oh! the joy of spotting a rainbow
Rushing to sail paperboats, all in a row;
To dance in the rain was so much fun,
To splash the puddle, and then to run.

Excited were we chasing butterflies, so many
The king among friends was one who caught any;
Ah! how I cared for all my pets..
With all my heart and all my bets.

From those happy days walking to school,
I remember one day I left a drool,
Sleeping in the classroom when all went to play
Laughing and running for a lively, long day.

How bright were the summer days!
When people in fields, let dry their hays;
Having nothing to worry, nor to be sad
Blessed was I, for the childhood I had.
