Y/n pov

You woke up for the third night in a row without a nightmare, you were so surprised. You went down early in the morning to make some coffee knowing that the twins would no doubt find a way to mess it up. You were fixing it up the muggle way when you heard a noise from behind you, you pull out your wand and point it at the source only to find a familiar face.

"Josh?" You asked with a kind smile plaguing your lips.

"Y/n, I heard you were here, didn't think I'd see you so soon." Josh told you.

"Yeah, I came here just a few days ago." You told him looking at the man, he was dressed proper, clean shaven, hair still wild though.

"Although it's good to see you I have to ask, how are holding up?" He asked.

"If I'm honest, not the best, I'm without so much that I had before." You told him.

"Yes, I remember you and Cedric being good friends, but that's why I have to say it's important to remember the good times rather than dwell on our bad ones." He said sounding wise but you remember he was the guy who got his broom stuck in a doorway once.

"You're still acting as if you're my prefect." You laughed.

"Oh so you won't listen to me anymore?" He sighed. Dramatically rolling his eyes.

"Tell me when I listened to you before?" you asked serious not remembering.

"Fair point." He commented taking a sip of coffee.

You and josh talked for a while until some more order members came down, including Remus, Sirius, Moody, Molly and them. You offered them coffee and you put the kettle on for some tea.

"So, you and josh know eachother?" Remus asked.

"My old prefect actually, pretended like he could boss us around. He couldn't control us even then." You laughed.

"So you and Malfoy still at each others necks?" He asked and you blushed.

"In a way." You smiled.

"I'm sure, I for one am glad to be rid of his whining." Josh said before taking another sip of his coffee.

"He's not that bad, really you just need to get to know him." You defended almost too quickly.

"Oh... so you meant at eachother necks in a different way." Josh joked making you spit out your tea.

"Joshua!" You scolded him. He laughed, you gave him a death glare not noticing the glance shared between Remus and Sirius.

"I mean he did worry about you constantly." He argued.

"Only when I was being dumb." You stated, thinking back to the troll incident, the racing accident, you being almost killed a few times.

"So constantly." Josh commented making Fred and George who just walked in laugh.

"Josh!" You warned glaring at him crossing your arms.

"Sorry..." He said his hands up.

You laughed and took another sip of tea.

"Congratulations Josh on the promotion by the way." Remus said grabbing a bite.

"Promotion?" you asked.

"Oh... Well you see... with your mother being MIA... I took her place, at first, I was going to say no, but then Dumbledore said it'd be best for the order and-" You cut off Josh's spiral.

"Josh it's fine." You looked at his face change completely, from guilt to confusion.

"what?"

"It's a job title, it helps the order, my mother liked you, and out of everyone I'd preferred you have it. You deserve it." You told Josh.

"You got me the position, it may've never gone through without your parents approval." He told you, you didn't think it was true, he was smart enough.

"Blame the ministry themselves, if I wasn't thrown in a cell my parents may've not written such a high recommendation to make up for it." You joked taking the last sip of your tea.

"Overall, I still want to say thank you Y/n." Josh said smiling lightly.

You talked o the order members before they went about their duties and you helped the others clean another room in this house, that was until you finally decided to ask Fred.

"What is the order of the phoenix?"

"A sort of secret society built by Dumbledore, it was a thing in the first wizarding war and now they're bringing it back to the second, It's got like tons of spies from within the ministry, our dad being one." Fred told you.

"Right." You said it made sense now why Arthur and Josh would be valuable.

You and the twins talked for a bit and you found out that Percy chose the ministry over his family which didn't surprise you, but you felt bad for Molly and Arthur.

You had been here for the past four days and three nights and it seemed to be well so far, the first night being the hardest. You were walking up the stairs when you saw a small elf wearing a sort of sack, oddly similar to Dobby but less worn down, but just as dusty, it looked at you and stopped its incoherent muttering.

"A pureblood amongst all the blood traitors and Mudbloods." The elf said grabbing your hand roughly. "A L/n... My master would loved to see you in her prime." The elf said dragging out towards some odd curtains which you stopped him.

"Who are you?" You asked kindly.

"Kreacher!" Sirius yelled seeing him with a hold on your wrist.

"Yes master?" He asked Sirius. 'Master?' you thought.

"Leave her alone." He ordered. Kreacher listened and went about his business.

"'Master'?" You asked Sirius confused.

"Yes... well you are in my old home." He told you making you gawk. This was Sirius' old home?

"This is where you grew up?" You asked amazed.

"It wasn't like this when I lived here, but after years of the house being uninhabited for all these years, he's gone a bit off the deep end." Sirius admitted.

"What's behind that curtain?" You asked looking at dishevelled curtain.

"A hexed portrait of my mother, it'll scream about us if she sees us, so we keep it covered, we tried to take it down but it's magically stuck to the wall." He explained.

You went about your day knowing to avoid that curtain and you managed to avoid it just fine, but you heard a loud yell and ran to see what is was is when you were met with grey eyes and dark hair.  You stared at her it was a painting of a woman. A middle-aged witch.

"MUDBLOODS AND WEREWOLVES IN MY HOUSE!!!" She screeched. You watched as her eyes caught yours.
"The pureblood L/n... no doubt like her uncle before her. You can be our new hope!" Yelled the woman Remus and Sirius quickly covered her before she could say much more but that sentence was enough to make you feel sick to your stomach.

"Y/n are you okay?" Sirius asked in front of you. You faked a smile and nodded.

"Well after that I think I just need to get some sleep." You lied hiding the tears in your eyes. Sirius nodded and you hurried off to your room in Sirius' home.

You closed the door forgetting to lock it and you laid in bed and wept until you fell asleep. If that's what some random painting thought what would everyone else think? You really had to read the news but didn't want to if you did, you may've cried if you had, not that it'd change how much you were already crying. Your owl watches you and hooted from its cage, you didn't even want its comfort, just wanted to cry your heart out. So, you did.
