I do not want a love
That binds me like an addiction -
Making me itch to feel,
Making beg to belong and please.
I want a love that's quiet
A love that is so subtle and so beautiful
That I don't need words to try to describe it
Because it is so plainly visible in our actions towards each other.
God, I want a love that is beyond emotion
Something so deep that it shakes me to my core.
A love that does not constrict and control
But holds and nurtures.
I want the love that I have with you
In the warmth of your arms
In the peace of your company
And in the laughter that you bring.
