(COMPLETE) Warrior Cats One-shots

On Our Way (Squirrelpaw/flight and Brambleclaw)

Greetings everyone! This is a cute little one-shot I was requested and since they are a future couple this may be a little bit of romance but yeah! This was requested by tessalucy so I hope you enjoy!

Plot-line; Squirrelpaw and Brambleclaw bond while on The Journey to find the clans new home.

Brambleclaw huffed annoyingly, tail flicking as he watched the ginger she-cat prance around ahead of the group as if there was all the time in the world. Doesn't she understand? We're trying save our homes for StarClan's sake! And the last thing I wanted was to play babysitter to this mouse-brain- almost immediately the tom was snapped out of his thoughts as Squirrelpaw leapt on him, slamming him to the ground.

"Gotcha mouse-brain!! You need to lighten up Brambleclaw, we're on an adventure!" Brambleclaw huffed and easily shook the small she-cat off his broad shoulders.
"We're on a mission to save the clans Squirrelpaw, this is not an adventure or whatever you want to call it." Squirrelpaw huffed and mewed loudly, a whine clearly evident in her voice.

"Not with THAT attitude it isn't! Come on Brambleclaw!" She yowled loudly, leaping up onto a log and prancing about purring. Brambleclaw huffed, noticing the rest of the group was already walking ahead.
"We don't have the TIME Squirrelpaw! So stop acting like a kit!" Squirrelpaw huffed and tapped his paw before racing ahead.

"Come on mouse-brain! Catch me if you can!" Brambleclaw growled while racing after her, past the amused purring of Stormfur, Feathertail and his own sister Tawnypelt, only receiving a roll of the eyes from the WindClan apprentice Crowpaw.

"Squirrelpaw come on!! We don't have time for this!" He growled more hearing the laughter from the apprentice ahead. Though what Brambleclaw wouldn't admit was that he was enjoying the slight relaxation. The tom would admit, the lot of them had been rather tense the whole journey. What the warrior didn't notice was the large tree he was racing at until his face collided with it.

"BRAMBLECLAW!" Squirrelpaw raced over almost immediately, ears flat against her head as the others padded over a little. "Are you ok!? I thought you saw me go past it!"

"I'm fine Squirrelpaw..." Brambleclaw shook his head and stood up slowly. "Just a little dazed, but we all might want to find a place to rest for now.." he murmured, looking up at the sun setting in front of them. The rest of the cats agreed, and they began to set up a small little camp, Stormfur and Tawnypelt staying behind while Feathertail attempted to teach Crowpaw how to fish a little more, while Brambleclaw decided to head off with Squirrelpaw, considering she was still an apprentice.

"Will you keep your tail low Squirrelpaw?! You have Dustpelt for a mentor for StarClan's sake!" Squirrelpaw huffed, eyes sharp as she glared up at the amber-eyed tom.

"I KNOW what I'm doing thank you very much!" Brambleclaw snorted, ears twitching.

"Could have fooled me..." Almost immediately the green-eyed she-cat leapt on him growling, though her eyes were gleaming playfully.

"Say that again..." Brambleclaw snorted and pushed her off before running through the forest, laughing as he heard Squirrelpaw yelling and laughing behind him. Perhaps I have been rather uptight...I never thought she'd actually help me relax...

The two of them raced around for a while more before padding back to the group, a few mice held by Squirrelpaw and a squirrel Brambleclaw had managed to grab. Feathertail had a few fish herself as she stood beside Crowpaw. Looks like we'll all have something tonight then... he purred before turning slightly, hearing Squirrelpaw come up beside him holding one of the mouse they caught.

"Share?" Brambleclaw purred and nodded, settling down beside Squirrelpaw and sharing the mouse. Afterwards she yawned and curled up beside him. Brambleclaw sighed purring softly, and moved a little before curling around her.
Suppose she isn't such a mouse-brain then... the tom thought before slowly falling asleep as the moon continued to rise.

Little bit short but I hope you liked it, I didn't really have a lot of ideas for this one and I used so much brain power on writing a prologue for a new story on my main account where I post actual stories XD, again thank you so much tessalucy for requesting, I hope you all enjoyed! 💙
