Jinyoung sat in a guest bedroom in Jimin's childhood home in Busan.
"Wait... so you're still single?" Jimin asked.
Jinyoung nodded. "I have never really felt the need of someone. And who would like to get into a relationship with a single dad of two? And not to mention that what I'm involved with, it's not the most safe job for friends and family. Besides, I haven't met someone who's piqued my interest."
"Well I know someone who's good with kids and knows how to protect himself," Jimin stated.
"Do you now?" Jinyoung questioned sceptically.
"I do," Jimin replied.
"I have someone even better in mind," Youngjae told them. Jimin meet the blue haired boy's gaze and leaned towards him.
"Please do tell."
Youngjae leaned over and and whispered something to Jimin.
"Seriously?" the blond guy asked to which Youngjae only nodded.
Jinyoung didn't really care and laid down on the floor as the two other males sat in Jimin's bed and giggled.
"So, do you have anyone you like?" Jimin asked. "You already kinda said that you didn't, but from what I just heard that might've been the lie."
"Do you want the truth?"
"Yes please."
"There is one that might have caught my attention," he confessed.
"Ooo, what a lucky guy," Youngjae cooed.
"Who is the lucky man?" Jimin chirped.
"Im Jaebeom." Jinyoung suddenly found the ceiling very interested as he heard his two friend chuckle.
"Now that's a real power couple right there," Jimin stated after a few seconds.
The door to the room was opened and a small and thin kid peaked through the door. He looked shy.
Jimin and Youngjae were still a giggling mess on the bed and Jinyoung stood up and walked over to the young boy.
He took a step back as Jinyoung came closer. "Hey, don't worry. I won't hurt you."
The boy looked at the older man with big eyes. "What's your name?" Jinyoung asked softly while crouching down to the kid's height.
"S-soobin," he stuttered shyly.
"Well Soobin, I'm Jinyoung."
"Hi Jinyoung."
"Is there a special reason to why you came?"
"Jin hyung told me to get you because it's dinner." Soobin looked past Jinyoung and took a few steps back again.
"Are you scared?"
Soobin shook his head and stared down on the floor. "N-no, I'm just shy. Namjoon hyung says that I'm an introvert."
"Well it's nothing to be ashamed of. Felix was a really shy kid when we first moved to Korea."
"Felix?"
Jinyoung smiled fondly at him and picked him up. "Felix is one of my sons, and I think that you two would become good friends."
Soobin nodded. "I think that Jin hyung will scold us if we come any later."
"Come on you two, can you stop acting like teenagers and come with us to dinner."
"Why should we stop acting like teenagers when we know you have a crush?" Jimin sassed.
Jinyoung rolled his eyes but smiled a little as he heard Soobin laugh. "I guess I'll leave you to it then."
Jaebeom stood in the kitchen after he just had put the three kids to sleep. He decided to watch some series on his own and walked into the living room.
The clock was about 10:50pm when he had changed, brushed his teeth and went to bed.
The house was quiet and Jaebeom was half asleep when he heard quiet sobs coming from another room in the apartment.
He was quickly wide awake and walked out of his room. The sobs came from the direction of the living room.
The moon's light shone through the big windows and made the furniture and floor look white. A small figure was sitting by the window and staring down onto the sleeping city.
"Felix?"
The kid turned around and meet his gaze. "I-I'm so-sorry," he stuttered, tears reflected the light from outside and glistened on his freckled cheeks.
Jaebeom sat down beside Felix. "Why are you sorry?"
"For wa-wakin-ng you u-up."
"Hey hey, you don't have anything to be sorry for. Can you tell me what the problem is?"
He nodded and leaned on Jaebeom's arm. He picked the kid up and placed him on his lap, his shirt got a little wet as new tears streamed down the boy's face.
Felix hiccuped a few times. "Just breath, everything will be alright," Jaebeom soothed.
The silence laid over the room like a blanket. "I'm scared..."
"Why?"
"Because I know what dad does outside of school. He tries to catch the bad man and help others but I'm scared he'll get hurt."
The small boy buried his face in the man's chest. Jaebeom smiled sadly at the kid in his embrace. "I know how you feel, but your dad can take care of himself. If it's any comfort then I would say that he's hard to get rid of."
This made Felix laugh a little. "He's stubborn. Mark hyung tells me that I got it from him."
"Well I can see that," he chuckled as he looked at the moon.
They sat together in silence for an hour before Felix started to doze off. "I hope that you and dad like each other," he mumbled before soft snores escaped from his lips.
Jaebeom was frozen as he heard the words slip out of Felix's mouth. 'What was that?'
He stood up as smoothly as possible to not disturb the sleeping child. Both Hyunjin and Chan were sleeping heavily on the guest room's bed.
Felix stirred a little as Jaebeom put him down between the two sleeping boys but he quickly settled down.
The apartment was as quiet as before as he made his way to his bedroom and sat down on the edge of the bed. 'They are really brave for having to put up with everything that happens in their lives.'
The moon had disappeared behind a few clouds and the stars twinkled in the dark blue sky. Seoul was becoming sleepier as the number of cars decreased as the minutes ticked by.
Jaebeom didn't know what to think but all he felt right know was worry. He was worried for Jinyoung, and if something would happen to him. But he was worried for Felix and what would happen if Jinyoung one day didn't come home.
"Since when did Jinyoung become this important?" he asked himself.
