Realization ~Ignis~ *FLUFF*

The first time I ever laid eyes on Ignis Scientia was the best and worst day of my life. I was sitting at a playground, on the swings as the sun was going down, mourning the fact that my best friend was in a car crash and she didn't make it. When he approached. He didn't say anything, he held two ice cream cones in his hands, he simply leaned down and held one out for me. I looked at him, and I stared at him. He wore a small smile on his face. I took the ice cream and he sat beside me. We didn't say a single word to one another, he just sat beside me, eating ice cream with me as we sat on the swings, and I was okay with that. He knew that I'd talk to him when I was ready and he was okay with that. Once I finished my ice cream, I stared at the ground. "Thank you..." I whispered as he smiled, "I saw you on my way to my friend Prompto's place...I could tell something was wrong. So, I went over to the ice cream stand." he spoke and oh gods that voice. "It hurts my heart when I see a woman crying. I try everything I can to try and make them feel better...may I inquire as to what's wrong?" he asked softly as I let out a shaky sigh, "m-my best friend died last night" I whispered as he looked over at me and took my hand in his. "I'm so sorry for your loss" he spoke as I looked at him and saw there was worry in his eyes, I blushed, "th-thanks..." I mumbled as he smiled a little, "you know what you need..." he spoke getting up, he extended his hand, "what?" I arched an eyebrow, "a visit with the most hyperactive person you'll ever meet" he smiled a little as he stared at me. 'Sure...let's go with this strange man...' an inner voice spoke as I smiled a little and took his hand. "You've piqued my interest good sir" I spoke as I got up. "Ignis" he did a small bow, "Y/n," I told him as he smiled and held onto my hand as we walked.

~Ignis' pov~

The first time I had laid eyes on Y/n L/n was the best day of my life. I was going over to Prompto's since he was planning a party for Noct and I was supposed to cook dinner and make the cake. I walked past a playground and saw a lone woman sitting on the swings. I stared at her, there was obviously something wrong, and so I walked over to the ice cream stand that was near. I bought two vanilla ice cream cones and walked up to her. I held one out to her as she looked at me, her eyes were red and puffy. I gave her a small smile as she stared at me, she took the ice cream out of my hand, I sat beside her on the swingset, both of us remained silent as we ate our ice creams. Even after we finished, we remained quiet, and yet. Here we were. going to Prompto's for the small party. I walked in, "IGNIS! YOU'RE LA-..." Prompto stopped when he saw Y/n, "who's your friend?" Gladio asked as she hid behind me, "this is Y/n, we met at the park...she's feeling down. I thought she'd like to meet the most hyperactive person in Insomnia..." I spoke as Prompto grew a smile, "Hello, I'm Prompto!" he smiled as she remained behind me, "Gladio..." Gladio waved, she remained quiet.

~Your pov~

"It's all right Y/n...I can assure you, they won't try anything..." Ignis spoke as I looked at him, I came out from behind him. "H-Hi..." I whispered as Gladio smiled, "you're a shy one aren't ya?" he spoke as I blushed, "ignore him...for he's a stupid idiot" Prompto spoke as Gladio glared at him, "last I checked...you love this stupid idiot!" Gladio spoke poking Prompto in his side making him jump. I don't really know how it happened but I was sitting on the couch watching Prompto and Gladio hand up party decorations. Ignis had disappeared somewhere in the kitchen. Prompto was yelling at Gladio about something, I sneakily got up from the couch and retreated into the kitchen where I sat down at the island with a sigh. "You all right?" Ignis asked making me jump, "y-yeah...I'm just...not in the mood for the whole happy thing that's happening...plus, Prompto is yelling at Gladio..." I whispered as Ignis looked at me, I giggled at his apron he was wearing, "Please do nothing to the chef?" I arched an eyebrow, "Noct got it for me during my birthday last year" he spoke as I smiled a little, "it's nice" I whispered as I rubbed my eyes, "are you tired?" he asked as I shook my head. After a few hours, I sitting between Prince Noctis and Ignis as we played charades. "Is it a behemoth?" Noct asked as Prompto shook his head, "is it bee of some sort?" Gladio spoke as Prompto shook his head, a wave of sleepiness washed over me and I leaned against Ignis slowly falling asleep.

~Ignis' pov~

I felt someone place their head on my shoulder, I looked over and saw she was fast asleep. I moved back and placed her head on my lap. "Perhaps that's enough for tonight" I whispered as they all looked at me, I stared at Y/n who was fast asleep, I brushed aside some of her hair, and stared at her. Noct got up and lifted her feet onto the couch, "she's emotionally drained..." I spoke as they looked at me with confusion. "When I met her, she was crying...she had lost her best friend last night..." I told them as they looked at her, "I gave her some ice cream and we sat on the swings until she was ready to talk to me..." I added as I stared at her. 'This woman is absolutely beautiful...Six! I'm in love with her...I never want to see the sadness in her eyes ever again...' I let out a small yawn, "you're not allowed to move" Noct spoke as I chuckled, "I wasn't going to..." I spoke as they chuckled.

~Your pov~

I woke up the next morning to the sound of someone's heart and someone moving hair out of my face. I looked up and saw Ignis who gave me a small smile. His arm was behind his head, one leg was propped up on the couch, the other rested on the ground, and his jacket was wrapped around me acting as a blanket. His hair wasn't styled anymore and I just stared at him. "Good morning" he whispered as I blinked and smiled a little. "Did you stay with me all night last night?" I asked him as he nodded, "I was afraid you'd have a nightmare...so I remained by your side..." he spoke as I blushed, " I know this is sudden...but would be willing to accompany me on a date tonight?" he asked as my blush grew hotter. "Uh...s-sure" I nodded as he smiled and placed a hand on my cheek. "Wonderful." he whispered as he caressed my cheek with his thumb, 'by the Six...' I mentally spoke as he let out a small groan and closed his eyes for more sleep. 'I'm in love...' I lay my head on his chest again as he let out another sigh and held me close to him.
