What Lies Beneath (A Twisted Baldi's Basics Fanfiction + Reader Insert)

#4: But Nobody Came

It took a bit of a walk for (Y/N) and Gaby to get to Jaron's house but at least they've finally made it. Arriving at the house, (Y/N) rang the door bell; having both her and Gaby hoping for someone to answer. Surprsingly, somebody did answer to the ring. It was Jaron's father. He looked quite tired, stressed, and has been letting himself go. Both teenagers couldn't help but feel bad for the man. They both know that he's been going through a lot too - having his son going missing, after all.

"Oh.. (Y/N), Gaby. Do you two need something?" He asks. (Y/N) tried to crack a smile to maybe try and lighten up the mood a little. "Yeah, sorry to disturb you like this Mr. Cohen, but me and Gaby want to help out with looking for Jaron's whereabouts. We've been real worried for him too..", she explains. "We were hoping that maybe we could take a look around his room for clues and such." Gaby added in.

Mr. Cohen couldn't help but heave out a sigh. He was pretty much almost hopeless, so he's just going to get any kind of help he can. "I'm grateful for you the two of you looking out for Jaron like this..", he says. "..It's been depressing ever since my wife died, now Jaron is gone too.. I hope the two of you can maybe find something."

And with that, he stepped to the side - letting the two teenagers into the house.

"Don't worry, Mr. Cohen. We'll do our best." says (Y/N).

Looking around Jaron's bedroom, everything seemed to be completely normal - as if nothing ever happened. Gaby couldn't help but frown a little from being jealous of how nice and tidy Jaron's room is - unlike his catastrophe of a bedroom. Even so, the two of them continued to rummage further. They checked around the entire room in different spaces. They even checked inside his closet. And to no surprise whatsoever, they saw a bunch of sweaters and hoodies in there - the two things Jaron often likes to wear.

(Y/N) ambled over to Jaron's desk and rummaged around the things that were on there and such, while as Gaby went to go check under his bed. Gaby reached to all sorts of random things under there. Although there was a certain box that intrigued him. Pulling the box out of its dark space under the bed, he opened it in a curious manner. And so, he found a bunch of doujinshis in there; most notably, BL doujinshis. He looked through them and looked disgusted. "NO WAY! JARON, HOW COULD YOU BE SHIPPING US-UK?! I THOUGHT WE WERE GOOD ON FRUK!!", Gaby yelled out suddenly - which immediately caught (Y/N)'s attention.

"What the hell are you doing over there, Gaby??" (Y/N) asked. Gaby darted his eyes at her. "Jaron's ruining our Hetalian agreement!", he idiotically retorted. (Y/N) sighed. "Just leave Jaron's secret stash of weeb garbage alone. We're here to try and find some clues, remember?"

Gaby grumbled as he did what he was told. He put the doujinshis back in the box and pushed the box back under the bed where it belongs. Afterwards, he continued to search somewhere else; Jaron's computer.

For some reason, the computer is still open. But Gaby didn't mind about that. He searched through his files and such, and nothing unusual was found. Next he looked through Jaron's browsing history and it was empty. Of course..

Not being contented, Gaby rummaged through Jaron's computer files once more. He found something somewhat intriguing. All of the files of Jaron's other games are gone. There is only one folder left of only one game: Baldi's Basics In Education And Learning. Gaby knows that Jaron, from time to time, plays a variety of games - so it really made him baffle as of why there's nothing left but that one single game. Gaby thought of the myth again of the game being haunted. Maybe the game has something to do with Jaron's dissapearance?

But Gaby still thoguht that it was impossible, so he disregarded that hypothesis.

"Found anything, Gaby?" (Y/N) asked. Although Gaby shook his head. "Nope, nothing..", he answered.

(Y/N), who found nothing as well, sighed."..Looks like we failed"

They left the room without another word. But in reality, they actually missed something.

The computer was still running even though it wasn't plugged in. The computer won't be able to run if it isn't plugged in.

In reality, the computer has been running on its own without the support of it being plugged in for as long as Jaron's been missing.

..Someone..

..No..

Something was manipulating the computer on its own.
