*beep beep beep*
that's the sound i woke up to. i woke up in a hospital room, not knowing what state i'm in. i sigh and open my eyes to see billie sitting in the chair beside me asleep. i smile at how peaceful she looks, but she looks miserable.
"bil?" i whisper
her head perks up and she smiles at the sight of me being awake
"hey babygirl" she says while grabbing my hand "how are you feeling"
"like shit" i say while looking down "i feel weak, i feel like crying." i lowly say
"hey mama, everything is okay now. you are safe with me in this hospital. i have you now, i'm not gonna let anyone take you again." she says
"it's just you never think this stuff could ever happen to you until it does. it doesn't feel real" a tear falls down my face as i sniffle and quickly wipe it away "the way he looked at me while he was doing all of those things." i look away so she can't see me fall apart
"baby, look at me. amala look at me" she says sternly
i look over at her then i look down. she gets off the chair she was in and sits next to me. she lifts my chin up so i'm looking at her.
"Amala, listen to me. I guarantee you that is never going to happen again. you are safe now. The police found him on the boat and arrested him. i was told that earlier. calm down just a bit and relax." she says while holding me close
"i wish i could just forget everything that happened." i whisper
i put my head on billies chest and just lay there with my eyes closed until i hear a doctor come in the room. i look up at him and give a fake small smile. i try and sit up but it hurts too bad.
"You don't have to sit up for him baby" i hear billie whisper to me
"Okay, amala, a lot of damage was done during the attack as you may know. Sadly, your leg is infected because it didn't seek proper care as you were being brought here. I am going to give you antibiotics for the infection but if it doesn't clear up, i'm afraid we are going to have to amputate your leg." he says
i let out a dry laugh
"i am just walking back to my suite and then this happens to me. what happens to him? the worst that happens to him is he goes to jail right? the worst that's going to happen to him is him being beat by fucking other prisoners." i almost shout and i see billie look the other way as if she's hiding something "what is it billie" i ask
"uh amala, he isn't in jail yet." she says while looking down at me
my heart sinks to my ass
"wait why that's not fair" i say
"we have to go to court and testify to see what happens to him. there is a chance that nothing will happen to him" she says and i start tearing up
"when?" i ask
"in about a week?" she says sounding like the question
"can you guys please leave" i say "i wanna be alone to think about all of this"
billie frowns but then nods. she kisses my forehead and then gets up from beside me.
"you heard her doc, she wants to be alone" billie says
they both walk out of the room and before i know it i am passed out.

Sorry for this short ass chapter. I'll try and update soon though. i do online school and i'm about to go on vacation so my parent wants me to get ahead as much as possible. so this is kind of a filler chapter. since it is now the weekend though, i'll try and update tomorrow.
