Chapter 3

(Flashback, one summer's night in Beijing) 

"Lao Wang are you done yet?"

*Splash!*

Like a dolphin, Yibo popped his head out of the water and looked at the owner of the voice. He found Xiao Zhan on the very edge of the pool in a lying position on his back.  Although there were two chaise lounges on the side of the pool, for some strange reason  Xiao Zhan chose to lie directly on the ground.  One of his legs hung off the side with which he kept on stirring the water carelessly.

"Fuck, would there be a time when I'll stop admiring you Zhan ge?" thought Yibo

Zhan was dressed in nothing but a pair of beige swimming trunks. Moonlight glinted off the stray water droplets on his body glowing like numerous little crystals. It also brought out the seductive ridges and valleys of his body that he so carefully maintained in a mesmerising shadow and light effect. His liquid eyes were shining as  He was looked directly at the heavens, right hand raised, trying to find out the constellations and stars in a clear night sky. 

Suddenly plan of a mischief came in Yibo's brain. Smiling widely to himself he dived underwater. 

" Don't be naughty Yibo"  Zhan's warning voice rang in his ear as raised his head above water again, one hand towards his leg.

Yibo retracted his hand with a guilty face. "You knew?"

"I had a hunch the moment you dived underwater. And aren't you done already ? it has already been one hour. Are you trying to catch a cold so that you miss all your important schedules this week? "

"you are such a killjoy Zhan ge. And why the heck do you keep staring at the boring stars?"

"Ah?" said Zhan smiling at the skies"boring stars? You never told me that on that day of rooftops of Gusu."

"That was because you invited "me" to see them too. Any activities you do without including me in it is boring." 

"Oh? " said he a hint of amusement in his voice "Lao Wang drank vinegar because of  Peng Chu Yue, Yu bin, Ayunga ge, even his own character Lan Wangji and now he is drinking it because of the poor stars that are thousands of miles away?"

"I hate Peng ge because he got to stay with you the most. Yu bin because he was trying to separate me from you. Ayunga ge because you always go Ayunga ge this and Ayunga ge that about him. Lan Wangji because I had fallen in love with you already for one whole year and yet when I finally got a chance to get close to you, you saw me only as that character in a drama series and  finally the stars because I'm talking with you for five whole minutes yet you didn't take your eyes off of them to look at me. And I----"

Large hands grabbed hold of Zhan's ankle and arm. 

"Yib-----"

*Splash!*

"--Don't  like them at all"

Though initially unnerved by Yibo pulling him in so suddenly, Zhan  was quick to regain his balance in the water. After all he did swam around a lot during his student days. 

"Wang Yibo!" said Zhan loudly as he brushed away water from his face with one hand. 

"Heh! soaked cat"

Yibo laughed devilishly and pulled a lock of Zhan's hair earning two or three slaps on his arm in return.

"Ah, Zhan ge ..."
