8 years later (sorry for all the time jumps this is the last one in a long time.)

Kikiyo POV: I pulled my knees closer to my chest as the summer's last breeze signaled that summer has come to an end. It seems like almost yesterday when I was first told about everything...ever since then...I haven't really spoke to anyone when I started school. When Mau started school he was the only one I'd talk to...now that I'm going into the ninth grade and he'll be in the seventh...next year I'll be in highschool all alone... I tightened my grip on my light blue jeans. My white faded shirt moved in unison along with my long orange hair that went all the way down to my mid back. I heard soft footsteps walk towards me. I turn around to see a grown up orange cat sigh "Kikiyo, what are you doing all the way up here on the roof again? Mom is looking for you." I argue "Pickles, I like being up here...tell mom to wait, I'll be right down." He jumps on top of my shoulder "Kikiyo, she wants you now." I lightly shove him off "Yeah yeah...alright." I stand up and Pickles furrowed his eyebrows at me "You should go back inside anyways. You've been out here for hours." I climb off the roof without another word. As I walked back inside mom calls from the kitchen "Kikiyo! Please come here!" I stepped into the kitchen and mom was cooking "Your dad and I are going on a trip and I was wondering if you'd be okay here if I let you stay at your uncles house." I shrug "Sure I guess..." I looked at my feet slowly. Mom caught this and she was concerned "Would you rather them come and stay here? What's wrong?" I mumble "Mom...I have no friends except Mau...all my other cousins are way to young to trust and my classmates all think I'm a weirdo since I have orange hair...I'm about to leave middle school when I go to ninth grade and Mau will only be in seventh and staying in middle school." Mom hugs me closely with a genuine smile "Kikiyo, your just like me. I had no friends at all either, but I kept a good attitude and kept pushing forward. And fate just brought me Hanajima and Arisa, same as it brought me across the Sohma's. I believe fate will do the the same magical wonders to you as well." I planted a fake smile "Thanks mom. I will keep pushing forward." She pats my head "You will find friends Kikiyo. I know you will." I nod and reply "I think I want to go get changed mom. Who's all coming here while you and dad are on that trip?" She chuckles "Well, just Yuki and Machi with Mau. But do you want some of your other aunts or uncles? I'd be more than welcome to invite them." I rose my eyebrows "I never really see any of them besides Uncle Yuki and Aunt Machi. It would be great if I saw everyone." Moms smile fades "I know...I'm sorry. Tell you what, how about throughout the week I'll ask each one of them to stop by to see you? Yuki and Machi will stay the whole time though, to watch the house for us." I smirked "yeah that sounds good." Mom jumps "oh jeez! It's a Monday today right!? You have school I can't believe I forgot to do your laundry! Ahh um. I know! You can use my old uniform! Its still in my closet let me go get it!" I winced as mom flew into her room. Pickles sat in front of me "So, I can tell you have no faith in your mothers words..." I sigh "Its true that I believe her that it happened to her, I just don't believe her when she says it will happen to me." Pickles headbutts me "I'm sure it will. You can't go friendless forever. Someone will notice you." I sarcastically reply "gee thanks. Besides I'm not completely friendless, I have you and Mau." Pickles squints at me "I'm a cat and Mau is your cousin who is two years younger than you." I scoff "So? Since when did species or age matter? I don't really like the people my age at school." Pickles rolls his eyes "That's because you haven't even tried to get to know them. Friends won't just walk right up to you, you have to step up and build a friendship with someone." I state "Well how can I do that with the fear of them realizing who I truly am!? I told you already that I can't be with any one else besides you two because I will end up hurting them in the future." Mom walked in just in time with the uniform in her arms. She looked semi-sad, she probably listened to me talk to the cat. But since she only could hear what I said, I guess it doesn't really matter. She handed me her old middle school uniform and I ran to my room. I don't want to talk about that anymore...their words can't change how things are...I know that advice is really the only thing they could do on that subject so...I'll just let it go. I quickly dress myself while grabbing my schoolbag. I cause to much stress for mom and dad, I should really stop telling them my problems. It makes them worry. I guess I'll just put on my usual fake smile and pretend everything is okay. I skipped down the stairs and mom kissed my forehead "Have a good day at school and be safe." I smirked with an eye roll as I stepped outside and started to walk to school...or I should be more clear, my first day of school. Today...I'm going into another school building...with students three grades bigger than mine sharing this school. I hope there isn't crowed halls like middle school had...or mean teachers. I know for a fact classwork will be harder though... My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Pickles call my name, he caught up to me and states "Everyday, I'll walk to school with you and then wait for you until you come out of school." I worriedly mumble "No, Pickles you really don't have to do that. I don't want you to wait for me that long." He made a derp face, which on a cat is the cutest thing ever "Kikiyo, I really have nothing better to do. And besides, that school grass is tooken good care of. I can't wait to play, nap, and lay in it while the sun is warming me, its the best feeling in the world to sun bathe in good fresh grass." I chuckled "Heh heh, I really haven't tried it but it does sound nice. Maybe we could do it together some time." Pickles giggles "yes. You'll love it so much." We arrive quickly. The school was huge and had a light tan color to it. I swallowed hard and kept my head low as long as I stay an outcast were nobody can notice me, maybe I won't gain anymore bullies except the ones in my grade. I silently walk inside and into the classroom I was assigned to. I took my seat slowly until I heard a really annoying voice from in front of me...a voice that was very distinctive. I gaze up to see a red headed woman with a huge nose and evil green eyes. She snarls "Hey I see you still haven't dyed that ugly hair of yours, pumpkin top! How about when you decide to dye it, dye it a normal color. Not orange you freak." I grumble "I told you that this was my natural hair color..." She snickered "Yeah right! Tell me another fairy tale, Princess unrealistic!" I sigh and put my head on the desk. She kicks my desk which makes it slam into my face. She growls "Don't ignore me when I'm talking to you idiot!" She's seriously pissing me off... I finally say "I'm sorry, your giant nose blocked the light so I thought it was already time to go to bed and seeing as how your lame insults were boring me anyways, I decided to sleep." She holds her nose and screams "You take that back bitch!" She slapped me across the face and in the class you could here people gasp in unison 'ooo' I balled up my fist. I need to punch her... Just once right in that umbrella she calls a nose...I have to...I can't hold back my anger anymore. I pulled my arm back and then swung, digging my fist into her nose. She fell to the ground and started crying as blood trailed down her face. My anger quickly formed into satisfaction as I sit back down again. The classroom was full of whispers and mumbles. Great...all I need is all this unwanted attention... The nurse ran into the room and asked politely "What happened to you sweetie?" The girl stood up and pointed at me "It was her! That bitch went all ballistic and punched me! All I was doing was asking for a pencil." I growl "Liar! You were being mean to me first!" The nurse gives me a glare and shouts "You can go walk yourself to the principles office!" I grit my teeth "I'm telling you she's lying!" People in the classroom all went on her side while yelling things like "No she totally punched her for no reason!" Or "We saw it all! Her eyes almost turned to flame they were so red!" And lastly "Pumpkin top demon!" The nurse snaps at me "Go! Everyone in this room is a witness!" I held back my quivering lip and stomp out of the class. I punched her for a reason...she deserved it...so why when she hurt me first am I getting punished? People acted as if I was the bully...I'm not...am I? I walk in silence to the office.
