Lunch

I was halfway done with my assignment when the computer flashed a text, it read "LUNCH" in bold letters
The speaker next to me went off with a small bell.
Well, I could use a break.
I went to my room to grab my currency card.
We gained more "money" the better we do in tasks and the more obedient we are in zodiac.
I get into my room and grab my card and quickly make it to the break hall.
I get in and race over to the fruit press stand and start my order.
"what can I get for you jasmine?"
"banana and strawberry smoothie please, OH and yogurt with oats."
The person behind the counter quickly jots it down with a smile.
"ok, card please."
I had them my card and they scan it.
"you're all set. Be right back" they said, handing me my card. We smiled at each other. I just wanted my smoothie.
I look over to my side and see Jackson, he was getting a fruit salad, who doesn't like fruit salad?
He glances over at me and does that "heeeeeyyyy" sorta expression. I walk over to him.
"Hey Jackson, you have anywhere to sit?" I asked.
He looks shocked for a second and quickly says "i didn't think about that! I could just eat in my room."
Without a second thought, I said "hey we could eat in my room! I'm kinda bored so."
In hindsight, this could be kind of a weird offer at zodiac, but I didn't really care.
"oh, really? Thanks! Ya know, you're a pretty cool kid" he said
"ugh don't call me kid" I added.
He smiled
I was realizing how grand our age difference really was.
He had to be at least 23,
That's a 9 year age difference, it's not grand it's just kinda weird that he still would talk to me, I guess we are all a child at heart right?
I git my smoothie and led Jackson up the stairs to the rooms.
I open the door and we walk in.
"sit wherever you want" I shouted
He plopped himself on the ground in a crossed leg thing. We started chatting.
"you drilled us pretty hard today." said Jackson
"well, it was a test, have to try and get perfect marks ya feel?"
He chuckled.
"Yeah, but you literally... Sorta threatened me during the line."
"but it worked didn't it?"
"Yeah, I guess it did... But at the same time wouldn't they can't you weak if you have to threaten to get what you want?"
Jackson did have a point.
"since when did I care what people think?"
"I've known you for a day" Jackson replied with a chuckle.
"fair enough" I added
We continued eating and at one point played uno...... Jackson won... Shut up...
He is a great friend and could make a great Allie.
Maybe even stick with me...
He seems trustworthy enough...
