Hey the author here, I wanted to take a moment to say some stuff before you get into the story. I'm going to be following some of the events that happen in The Goldfinch, excluding the painting thing entirely. Which I know, the painting is a huge part of the plot; but essentially I'm rewriting the book to be a love story and coming of age type thing.
I also would like to mention that this book will talk about rape, domestic abuse, self harm, drugs, drinking, depression, and suicidal thoughts. So if your triggered or bothered by any of those things I wouldn't suggest reading this. Thank you and enjoy.
