December 10, 2020.  Hanukkah,  Day 1

pov - Amber

I look at myself in my mirror as I put on a shiny layer of lip gloss. I'm wearing a subtle floral dress.  My blonde hair pinned back so its just out of my face.  Not gonna lie, I look good.

"No," I hear from Tj's room as something plops on the ground. "No," he says again.

I go to his bedroom and open the door.  His clothes are all over the floor.  His closet door wide open with all the hangers on the floor.  He's currently rummaging through a drawer with clothes.

When Tj sees me he stands up and leans against the dresser 'naturally'.

"Hey Ambs, what's up?" he says.

I give him a ridiculous look. "Tj what on earth are you doing?"

"Um..." he looks around for an answer. "Cleaning out my drawers, what does it look like I'm doing?"

"It looks like you're struggling on choosing what to wear," I say.

I left Tj looking for words to say. "Yeah, you're right," he confesses.

"Gosh, Tj. It's just Hanukkah.  You've just never celebrated it, but your around the people you love, right?" I say.

"Yes, I'm around my friends, but I still have to look good," he says.

"For Cyrus? I suppose?" I ask.

"For his parents, actually.  I need to make a good impression, after all, Cyrus is my boyfriend."

I roll my eyes at him. "I honestly think his parents will love you.  Who doesn't?"

"Okay, first of all, Buffy hated me remember?" he says.

I slap his arm. "That was a million years ago, things are different now.  Just live in the moment.  Take a breather Tj.  Wear one of your hoodies, they never let anyone down."

"It's not that easy Amber, besides, which hoodie would I even choose? I have more hoodies than nice shirts."

"Then I guess you'll have to work it out for you then," I say, approaching the door to leave.

(aftwon:  YALL SEE WHAT I DID THERE AHAHAHAHAHAH)

Before I leave I see Tj smack his head against the dresser.  It's just Hanukkah.  There's nothing to be worried about.

"Let's leave soon! I want to get there before Andi does," I say to Tj.

"Got it," Tj says, with his head still on the dresser.

pov - Cyrus

It's the first day of Hanukkah, and the house is hectic.  My entire family comes to visit us during the entire 9 day span of this celebration.

Delicious smells of food come from the kitchen.  My mom always makes the best potato latkes.  It's been a family recipe passed down from generation to generation.

I invited all my friends, and the tall blonde boy I call my boyfriend, to Hanukkah this week.  Even with all the family, there's still room for my friends.  I can't celebrate it without them.

Buffy lays on my bed and scrolls thru her phone as I stare at me reflection.  I'm not sure if I look under-dressed, or overdressed.

"Cyrus, your not going to change by just standing there," Buffy says looking at me.
