That night Leo had pushed me into an even deeper pool of thoughts. "Damn it Leo" I grimaced. I knew it was late but i couldn't sleep so i headed for the lake.

I took my exit from the house, into the backyard and perched myself on the swing. People would call me crazy, sitting by the lake in the dead of night knowing that there was a possibility of a ghost being on the loose. but then again the whole concept of it sounds insane when one says it out loud.

While I was lost in thoughts like always, my eyes were suddenly locked on the flickering porch light. "weird.." I thought, then my peripheral vision caught a glimpse of something moving beside me, which made my head turn toward the lake. I glanced at the lake from the swing and saw some whitish figure moving inside the lake. I guessed it was probably a fish, but i still had to be sure. i got off the swing, and slowly paced towards the lake. when i had reached the edge, there was nothing to be seen. i kneeled down bending over the water to get a better view, but it was pointless. the temperature of the place started falling noticeably. I turned my head to the house and was about to rise when something held my hand. A shiver ran through my body which made the hair on my skin stand. "oh geez.." i gulped and turned my head slowly to see that whatever it was it had disappeared. I was scared to death. I was sure like anything that somebody held my hand. I bent over once again to check the water still kneeling down. there was nothing, the water was calm. then just when i thought to get up, a pair of white hands shot up from the water to hold mine. then it showed her face, covered by her long black hair, as she looked into my eyes to say,"revenge....." I was scared to death. my head started spinning faster than a spinning top. Then everything blacked out.

I opened my eyes to the daylight and realized that mom was sitting next to me. I realized that i had passed out in the backyard last night after that incident. i sat up slowly, my head was mildly hurting. "Sweety are you alright?" mom asked
"yeah mom, my head feels heavy.."
"what happened?"
what could i say to her. she would not believe the truth. so, i decided to stick with, "well I couldn't sleep last night, so i came out here to sit by the lake, I must have passed out here.."
well it wasn't a lie, it was actually an incomplete truth. no harm done.
"honey its not safe to come out here at night like this, we don't know the neighborhood that well"
"yeah i know mom, i'm sorry.."
"its okay, now lets go inside.."
