She craved touch, yet flinch every time someone is close enough.

Afraid they'll feel the scars on her body, something she hated.

Amethyst was short and petite, with curves here and there but she hated it.

"Why can't I look like them!"she yells at the mirror, "am I not worthy of looking pretty?"

The magazine slips out of her hands as she falls to the ground. Her eyes were dull and empty, they weren't shining as bright as they were yesterday.

Slowly but surely, she was losing the light inside her.

Amethyst was often taken for granted because of her unique look. As she likes to say 'normal' people were born with eyes the exact same colour.

But hers? oh hers were so utterly beautiful. They weren't the same color and that's what made them unique and beautiful.

She thought it made her look ugly.

An abomination is what she says they are. Which is why she wears contacts, to hide one of her biggest insecurities.

All she wanted was to be like normal girls, pretty and perfect.

But she was far from normal and pretty.

She was absolutely gorgeous and unique.
