Skip the last step, slip on your shoes.

Say bye to your dad, you'll only be gone a short while.

Walk down the the park, trespass to the trail.

The one by the railroad tracks, the tracks that go over the river.

Now stop.

Turn on your phone and text your friends.

"I just wanted to say I love you"

"im sorry for ever upsetting you."

Now climb. Climb up to the top of the railing.

Stand there for a moment and just think.

What is the point?

Wait, that's the sound of a bike.

Turn around.

It's your ex's best friend.

The one who makes fun of you.

Let him talk you down.

Listen to his insensitive jokes about the situation.

Now go home, say hi to your dad.

Go back upstairs.

Nothing changed.

You feel the same.

A river of emotions rushing through you, just like the river you almost jumped into.

Hide it.

Deal with it.

Ride with the tide, and get over it.

Although you still try to swim with the fish, they dont want you with them.

So just stop, and deal with the river inside.
