SON CHAEYOUNG

A gunshot. A gunshot directed to me. I watched as everyone looked at me in horror while the bullet pierced through my stomach and came out of my back. It hurt. It bloody did.

~7 year old Son Chaeyoung~

"Chaeyoung, I want you to meet some people." Mr. Son said, giving me his famous fake smile.

"I don't want to." I stubbornly replied, going back to reading.

"Now, now... let's not be stubborn or you won't be able to sleep on your back for a month." he coldly said, sending chills down my spine.

"I-I'm s-sorry sir. I-I'll m-meet them." I stuttered, placing the bookmark mama gave me in between the pages I wanted to read later before I closed the book she gave me and and put it on my table.

"Now... I want you to behave. They're the sons of a business partner of mine. I don't want you to mess this up." he whispered in my ear, making my heart beat loudly in my chest.

"Yes sir."

~~~
"He's Mr. Wang, and these... are his sons. Go on boys." he said, giving the boys a sweet smile I've never seen before.
"Hello! My name's Jackson! I hope we can be great friends!" a boy who's as bright as the son cheerfully greeted, sticking his hand out for me to shake, making me automatically grab it in return.
"And I'm Mark. Nice to meet you." another one said. This boy had this mysterious aura around him. I couldn't seem to read what was going in his head and for some reason, his eyes were clouded with something I couldn't decipher, making me just nod in acknowledgement.
I turned to the last boy who seemed shy and nervous and offered him a smile which seemed to work because he smiled back.
"H-hi... I-I'm Bhuwakul Wang... b-but... you can c-call me Bambam..." he stuttered, giving me a shy glance.
"Nice to meet all of you. My name's Son Chaeyoung but you can call me Chaeng Chaeng if you want." I introduced, giving them a slight bow.
"Now that that's settled, why don't you boys go ahead and play in the garden?" my father suggested, making the three boys nod their heads before they turned to me.
"Sure. I'll lead you guys outside."
~~~

"I remember how we first met. You were the first boy who talked to me like you knew me. None of my brothers did that. They only did it because they had to. Because father told them to." I heard Bhuwakul, or should I say... Bambam, say.

"Looking back... I realized that you're the one I want. When your father promised me the woman you loved, I was ecstatic! I thought I could use her to get... you. But now... if I can't have you, no one will." he added.

"That's enough. You already shot the guy and you're still explaining why." I heard Mark growl in annoyance.

He loved me. He wanted me. But I never noticed it.
