Blasphemy

Today I saw the devil,

with a cigarette between his lips.

wicked on a new level,

with his hands on my hips.

His gaze left me gasping for air,

with eyes like the twilight of hell.

Skin cold and bare,

I can't let myself fall in love, but I already fell.

His desires were unholy but pure,

walking on rooftops every night.

For him any pain I would endure,

he was such a blasphemous sight.

Our love was truly damned,

but not even death could make us part.

With the mark of suffering binding our hands,

what we had was a rare form of art.

Maybe he was dangerous,

maybe his love was painful.

But don't you remember?

The devil was once an angel.
