I ran down the green patch and found Luke glaring at me
I jumped over the tracks.
"Hey" I grinned
"I've been waiting for an hour" He exclaimed
"I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed "I promise to be here on time tomorrow" I said hoping he'd forgive me.
"You said that last time" he said
"I'm a crappy friend but I mean well" I sighed
He rolled his eyes cracking a smile "never again?" He asked
"I promise!" And I meant it
He sat down and took out his Maths book I crossed the tracks with my three legged scamp following.
Just as I sat down the train passed
"How was school?" I asked taking out my maths book so Luke and i could get down to business
"You sound like my mom" he laughed lightly
"Your mom sounds like a 14 year old girl?" I asked raising an eyebrow
Luke rolled his eyes "c'mon lets just get started already" he said unzipping his pencil case
"Is your school ahead of us or something?" Luke asked with furrowed eyebrows as he flicked through the pages of my maths copy
"I'm not sure maybe we use different books" i said looking through his
"Well the more you know the more you can help me i guess" he said taking a sip of his water and starting in his homework
I smiled and pulled out a hair tie and began to put my hair into a messy bun
"What are you doing?" Luke asked "it looks like your hands are stuck in your hair" he said laughing slightly
"Oh shut up Luke your hair makes you look like a chipmunk" i said and squeezed his cheek really hard
"OWWWW!" Luke screeched swatting my hand away
"Rude" he muttered continuing with his work
I smiled and flicked his head "if anyones rude its you!"
"How?" He asked tilting his head
"shush" i said looking back down to my work book
Suddenly it was out of my reach and in lukes hands
"how can someones appearance be rude?" He asked
"I'm not sure"
"Then how is mine rude"
"I don't know i guess it's just because your Luke"
"Meanie"
"How am i a meanie?" I pouted
"Your discriminating agaisnt lukes" he said jokingly
"Okay I'm fine with that" i said clicking my fingers
"You shouldn't be"
"But i am" i grinned
He laughed and pushed my shoulder and i pushed his
Suddenly he looked unsure
"Are you okay?" I asked concerned "i didn't hit you too hard did i?" I said trying to lighten the mood
"Yeah" he mumbled "I'm fine just a little out of it" he said forcing a small smile
"Are you sure?" I said still concerned
"Riley I'm perfectly fine" he said
I nodded not wanting to annoy him
"Luke you'll never leave me right?" I asked playing with the grasss next to the track
"Promise?"
He blinked and hesitantly looked at me
"I promise"
