Where did I go wrong?

Chapter 9

I woke up hearing mumbles in a room. I slowly open my eyes and see blurriness. I could only hear for now, Ross & the nurse talking. I quickly shut my eyes to eavesdrop on their conversation.

nurse: So she'll need to go home. She got hit in the head pretty hard

Ross:(nods) Of course. Thanks so much nurse Nancy

nurse:(nods) Just doing my job Ross. Are you gonna bring her home?

Ross:(nods)

nurse: Okay. (checks the time) Well you only have 40 more minutes of school so I'll let the principal know you'll be taking care of Laura

Ross: Thanks nurse Nancy

nurse:(nods) You should take her home right after this. She needs rest

Ross:(nods) Thanks again

nurse:(smiles) No problem Ross. I'll be right back (walks out)

I heard the door shut. I flutter my eyes open just a bit since my eyes were still adjusting to the light. Ross looked so overwhelmed right now. His hair was all messed up (I guess he combed his hand through his hair a bunch of times) and he had a worried look on his face. Poor him :'(. I saw that his hand was leaning against the doctor bed/chair thingy. I reached for his hand and held it as tight as I could. I was still a little weak. He snaps his head over to my direction and soon his worried look was washed over with smiles and relief. I gave him a smile back.

Laura: Hey....

Ross: Do you know how worried I was?

Laura: I could tell. Your face and your hair

Ross:(flats his hair) Pretty noticeable?

Laura:(nods) Yup

Ross:(sighs) You've been out for so long, I thought we had to take you to the hospital or something

Laura: I just got knocked out cold with a volley ball, nothing serious

Ross: Yeah but it looked really painful and I don't like it when you get hurt or anything

Laura:(Smiles) awe

Ross: Anyways, you have to go home and rest for a bit

Laura: Okay with me, I need a little rest anyways

Ross:(nods) You weren't kidding about being terrible at volley ball

Laura:(rolls her eyes) don't remind me

Ross:(chuckles) Just saying

Laura:(Smiles)

I'm glad he was smiling and laughing now. I hate it when he's sad. Soon the door opened and walked in nurse Nancy.

nurse: Oh Laura, you're awake

Laura:(nods)

nurse: How you feeling?

Laura: Tired, my eye sight a little blurry and I feel like I got hit in the head with a volley ball

nurse:(smiles) Well you're gonna have to rest for a bit. Probably come back to school in 2 days or 3 the max

Ross: Why so long?

nurse: Well she could still have some blurriness happening and some loss of balance

Ross: Oh okay

Laura: And if I don't have those effects?

nurse: Well it would be rather strange but if you don't you may come back to school then

Laura: Okay

nurse: You two get out of here and Laura rest. See you kids l8r. I'll seen you kids out and tell the principal (walks out)

Ross:(helps Laura up)

Laura:(Gets on her feet and feels dizzy) Woah (falls)

Ross:(catches her) Be careful

Laura:(shakes her head) Is the room spinning or is it just me?

Ross: I'll carry you (picks her up bridal style)

Laura:(shakes her head) No Ross, it's okay

Ross: I got it Laur, you're hurt (walks out to their lockers grabbing their things to go home)

Laura:(yawns resting her head on his chest)

Ross:(shuts his locker having both bags over his shoulder) Let's go sleeping beauty

He walks us to his car and gets me in. I'm glad he's my boyfriend. He puts the bags in the back and starts the car driving to my house. I rest back in my chair and shut my eyes. I am seriously super tired.

A few hours later

I woke up and heard yelling. What's going on? Is that Ross? I slowly get out of my bed trying to stand on my feet but soon fell down. Well then, we're gonna have to do this the hard way. I crawl to the top of the stairs and see Ross in the living room shouting in his phone. I wonder who's he talking to? I bum scootch down the stairs to listen more. Is he talking to...... Heather?

Ross: Well I have to miss today thanks to you!......... I don't care if you're failing and your new pony depends on it! You shouldn't have hurt Laura on purpose!........ I knew it was on purpose Heather! Everyone did! So stop acting so innocent bc you're not!........... Look it's not her fault so stop blaming this on her! Goodbye! (hangs up the phone sitting on the couch breathing out in frustration)

I should go comfort him. I crawl to the couch and he soon spots me. It wasn't the look I was going for really. More like a mad expression.

Ross: What are you doing up from bed!? You're suppose to be resting! Not crawling on the floor! (gets her up on the couch)

Laura: First of all thanks. The hard wood floor was hurting my knee caps (rubs her knee caps)

Ross:(rolls his eyes) Oh Laur

Laura: Second of all, I was resting till I was woken up by you shouting to your phone

Ross: Oh.... sorry

Laura: What were you and Heather shouting about?

Ross:(sighs) She's mad that I had to cancel on her again and for the next 2 days

Laura: Bc of me? Ross you don't have to

Ross: I know but what kind of boyfriend wouldn't take care of his girlfriend? I mean, come on Laur, I'm not stupid

Laura:(blushes pushing him lightly) Shut up

Ross:(Chuckles) But for real, I want to take care of you and besides I do not want to spend another day with Heather. So thank you for getting hurt or else I wouldn't be able to spend time with my girl and more time with the devil

Laura:(smiles blushing) Wow

Ross:(smiles kissing her cheek) I love you

Laura: I love you too (kisses him)
