My apologies, I don't know Arno very well as I haven't played Unity or seen a play through of it, so he might be OOC :(

That said, it's possible that there's things in the story that might not be true in the game, I honestly have no idea on that part ¯\_()_/¯

That said!! I did try my best to write, with my only true knowledge on him being what I've read that regards him 🤗

Also, the soulmate AU will be explained in the story 🙃🙃

Age ten; that's when everybody loses their ability to see color, at least until they meet their soulmate. The world that was once full of bright colors is suddenly reduced to just black, white, and a plethora of shades of grey. Of course, unless the lucky person already met their soulmate, say a childhood friend. Then they will get to keep their color filled vision, never having to bare witness to how lifeless the world can seem. That's how people explain it to others, anyways. That it shows how one's soulmate, their true love, will always be there to brighten up their world and that life would be so bland without them.

You weren't one of the lucky few to have already met your soulmate prior to the age of ten. No, you still had to search for yours. It didn't help that your parents were not at all supportive. While most parents would comfort their child that they'd find their soulmate at some point, yours were busy being antsy about how long it was taking for you to meet yours.

Born into wealth, your family expected you to be married by 18, at the latest, and produce a son, that way they could keep the (L/n) lineage in tact. But here you were, in your early twenties, unmarried and without children. It didn't help that they would always compare you to your younger sister, which you could never fathom as to why. She was 17, beautiful yes, but had a rotten personality. Your parents didn't think that though, instead they thought she was an absolute angel who could do no wrong.

That's probably why she was exempt from the standards you were required to meet. While you were stuck in various lessons that would "help" you find, or rather 'attract', a husband, she was free to do what ever she pleased. She used that freedom for ill, however. She would go to any man she deemed worthy of her, leaving her soulmate, whom she met when she was 14, all alone. It wasn't even like he was a horrible soulmate, no, he was a sweet man who also happened to be born in the noble ranking. It's a shame the poor boy got stuck with your sister.

"Your soulmate is most likely dead, or its even more likely that he doesn't even exist" Your family would always say to you. The sad thing was, both of those were definitely possible. There are some who never get to meet their soulmate because they met an untimely death. Or there are those even more unfortunate to not have a soulmate. In both cases, the people will try to find others like them and marry them instead. It wouldn't be the same as being with a soulmate, but at least then they wouldn't be alone.

In all honesty though, you were almost positive that your soulmate was still out there, you could never explain it to anyone, but you just felt that he was out there; waiting for you. Yet here you were, being forced into a stuffy, restricting corset dress. Your parents had been setting up these gatherings for a while now, in an attempt to find you a courtier, or in other words, a husband.

Your maid was just finishing up tying the corset of your wine, or at least thats what she said the color was since you couldn't see it yourself, colored dress when the clock struck eight-o-clock, signaling the ball was to begin. Sighing, you stood up and readied yourself to head down to the main room. Your sweet maid sent you an apologetic smile as you made your way down the grand staircase.
