Dominique was standing in front of Joe with her tail in between her tail. She felt as though she was in a court room and judgment was about to delivered on her - technically, she was right - she was in a room, and Joe held the power to make or break her in this club.

Genesis stood at another side with Paul, as they both came in along with Dominique when Joe angrily called her out. He had flared on her attitude, but he had also surprised everyone when he equally lashed out on the two men who had caused the whole thing. These were two of his best customers who not only were frequent but also had the power and money to command authority wherever they went, but he had shoved that down their asses when he called them 'uncultured pigs'.

His anger was quite full, and also shocking to everyone. Dominique guessed from the look on Genesis and Paul's face that their boss wasn't one to throw out his customers, and at the same time get upset at the same person he had stood up for.

He was on fire, but he refused to speak out - or, maybe he was all caught up with what he was to say to the girl who had just cost him two of his very best moneybags. He just sat down on his seat with his face in his palms that rested on the desk in front of him.

The silence in that room was unearthly and it was equally killing Dominique. She hated being locked in suspense, and having to guess out what might happen next. If he were to fire her, then he should just say that. At least, this will be perfect than having to develop a high blood pressure on thinking of his decision. Not that she wanted to be fired - the fact was that she would be fucked if he did, but not the silence.

"Sir Joe." She muttered under her breath in almost a whisper, but luckily for her, he looked up. However, his eyes were not so friendly and told her that she was smoked.

Yet, she could not go down without a fight. "Sir, I apologize for what happened out there. I tried to ignore them. I tried to be the better person, but he just overstepped his boundaries. I'm sorry, sir."

He stood up from his seat, and walked to the front of his desk. "You know what your actions just caused, Dominique?"

Her heart dropped to the bottom of her chest, "I'm so sorry."

"No," his voice came up loudly making Dominique to look up to him, and the others also straightened up, "You shouldn't ever be sorry for being who you are, and for stopping what is not right."

Dominique was stumped. What had just happened?

"Uh?"

Joe smiled, "Those men deserved what came to them and you, you did what you had to do," he said, "and, I also have to do what I have to do."

Her heart skipped a beat. Of course he has to do what he has to. She closed her eyes as she sighed and made her mind ready for his next words.

"You have just won my trust, and my respect, Dominique." He said.

Minnie's jaw fell in surprise, as her eyes became wide as two saucepans. She could equally feel the duo beside her shriek in surprise.

"However, please do keep it to a minimum. We don't want a situation where we'll be serving empty tables, right?"

Minnie nodded absentmindedly, and Joe smiled. He then faced the other two, "You both return to your work, and Paul give our sweet Dominique some tricks to use on our dear customers." He said, and the duo nodded.

He returned to his seat, "You can all go."

And, just like that, they all walked out of his office. Outside, Paul and Gen encircled her.

"Dom, how did you that back there with Joe?" Paul asked.

Dominique's forehead scrunched together, "What do you mean?"

"Heck, he's right, Dom. Joe's never so nice to anyone, and he had just spared you from being fired and even encourages you to continue." Gen also asked almost immediately.

This only confused Dominique the more. If what they say was right, then something was way off somewhere. Why did he stand up for her? Why didn't he fire her? Why did he say all those nice things to her?

"I don't understand it myself." Dominique asserted.

Paul walked to her, and placed his palm on her shoulder, "Babe, whatever you did back there, just keep doing it, and you'll go places." He said to her with a smile, and walked in to the club.

Gen walked to her, "You have a great effect on people, and such is so rare. You're so lucky, Dom." She said, "Cleanup and come meet us out there.' She added and she also walked on into the club.

Dominique was rooted on her feet - her mind blown into million irreplaceable pieces - there were many questions ragging in her mind, but only one stood out.

What did she do back there?
