Taeyong drops the metal bat, letting it hit the concrete floor with a dull thud. "Get this fucker out of my sight," he spits, "burn his body." He heads toward the exit, stopping momentarily once he's near [Y/n], "I'm sending you home...
"After 2 years of looking into the situation, what happened at the Adamo Shopping Center is still unclear. The case has been closed and moved to accidents: there will be no further investigation."
Taeyong turns off the TV and lets out a sigh of relief upon hearing the news. Him and his gang had tried really hard to erase their traces, making sure they got rid of all the bodies, blood, any sort of DNA before deciding to decorate the scene instead.
They only had a few hours after they saved [Y/n] from being held captive any longer or getting killed by Simon and they had used that time wisely. Some planted evidence here and there helped make it look like the mall was consumed by a fire that could not be controlled.
Taeyong leans back on the leather couch he's sitting on and closes his eyes, thankful that everything worked out in the end. Although Simon was nowhere to be found, something told him that he wouldn't be a threat to Taeyong's gang anymore.
Despite that, it still didn't mean they were completely safe.
Light footsteps quietly make their way towards the living room. Taeyong smiles when he feels all too familiar weight on his lap; he doesn't bother opening his eyes. "How are you, baby? That new martial arts club isn't being too hard on you, is it?" He asks in a soft tone.
[Y/n] shakes her head, "You might want to ask Jackson how he's doing though. He complained about it the entire way back here."
Taeyong sits up and opens his eyes, [Y/n]'s face coming into view. The light from the bright diamond chandelier above made it look like there was a halo surrounding them.
[Y/n] tilts her head to the side, amused by Taeyong's lack of response. "You're staring," she points out.
"I still have a hard time believing you're here with me," he replies. [Y/n] takes his hands, settling them on her hips. She puts her arms around his neck, "Well, I'm here and I'm not going anywhere." She kisses him on the cheek, making Taeyong smile, "You don't have to worry about me getting in trouble again."
[Y/n] had said this to him multiple times, but it didn't necessarily ease his nerves: she was part of his life and his enemies were aware of her. If they really want to harm Taeyong, [Y/n] will inevitably be their target. She was in danger pretty much every day of her life now and even if Lucas and Jackson guarded and accompanied her everywhere she went, he couldn't really sleep at night since he was still haunted by what happened 2 years ago.
Taeyong knew she wouldn't repeat her mistake, trusting she learnt her lesson, but he still worried about her: he loved her, after all. She was one of the only people in the world he relied on, along with his gang members.
Although he had been weary of everyone's loyalty ever since Yuta and Winwin broke his trust, he didn't let it get to him. It's not the exact same, but he still has to keep things running in order to supply everyone. Taeyong didn't forgive them but he still wondered how the two ex-members were holding up.
Seeing he was deep in thought, [Y/n] grabs his dark brown hair and tilts his head back before leaving a peck on his lips. Taeyong pouts when she pulls away, "Kiss me more."
"Only if you stay for the rest of the day," she requests, "It's lonely in this big house all alone..." There was an important meeting he had to attend but they already had enough money to last them for at least a decade without working. "I guess my appointment with S. Coups can wait," the gang leader says finally, "What do you wanna do?"
[Y/n] smirks, "Let's go to the shooting range."
Taeyong agrees and lets [Y/n] lead him to the back of the house into their own private shooting range that he had invested over half a million dollars in. It was too big to only occasionally be used by the couple alone but Taeyong didn't care much. He had the cash to own anything he wanted and buy [Y/n] whatever her heart desired.
Business had been running quite smoothly, their drug trades bringing in more than enough for the entire gang to provide themselves with a few luxuries. To name one, the house they now lived in was something Taeyong had gotten; it was not only big but advantageous too, since it was situated closer to HQ.
The gun range was [Y/n]'s idea and she often spent her time there. She needed the practice since Taeyong was letting her come along to negotiations more often and these could sometimes be dangerous. Every deal was thrilling because one never knew how things might turn out and [Y/n] loved the excitement of it. Taeyong mostly wanted to keep [Y/n] in sight but he had to admit she was getting better, almost to a professional level.
"Alright, baby," [Y/n] calls out, grabbing one of her favorite pistols, a Beretta 92. "Watch this," she holds the gun with both hands and aims. Taeyong crosses his arms over his chest as he watches attentively from behind her.
[Y/n]'s eyes follow the moving targets before she shoots consecutively, the interval between the shots the same and no longer than a second. All the bullets go either through the head or straight through where the heart would be on the target. She grabs the second weapon near her and pulls the trigger on both guns almost at the same time. Taeyong is astonished by her precision and it unmistakably shows on his face.
For more effect, [Y/n] spins her guns before placing them down in front of her. She turns around to look at Taeyong, a cocky smile on her face. "How was that? Are you impressed?"
Taeyong smiles back at her and opens his arms, inviting her for a hug. [Y/n] happily skips to his side and accepts his embrace, wrapping her arms tightly around him.
"It was perfect, darling," he says and places a soft kiss on top of her head.
He was never going to let [Y/n] out of his sight again. He needed her and she needed him: they were like two lonely pieces of a puzzle that only went together and had no intention of letting each other go. They were stuck together, but they wouldn't want to have it any other way.
Taeyong was going to protect [Y/n] from all the bad in the world, even if it meant giving up his own life someday.
