Kit decided it was best to get up now, and take a shower, so he didn't have to do it later.
He didn't know how fancy he had to be, so he put on his best jeans and decided to go with blue flannel. Kit thought he looked nice, it was better than his ripped jeans and sweatshirts. He styled his hair the normal way he does, and grabbed his shoes. He slid them on and headed into the kitchen, it was only eleven and he had an hour to waste.
The blonde boy was only ever busy and doing stuff and never bored, except for now. Kit Walker was bored. And anxious about how the day would go. He knew that they had only just met, but he still really liked Grace, and it was obvious that she liked him, too.
He was so anxious, in fact, that an hour later when he walked into Barolo Ristorante, he was visibly nervous. He noticed that he was dressed like most of the people in the establishment - cleaned up, but not entirely black-tie. Which he was thankful for. “Um. Grace Bertrand?” he asked the hostess, and she nodded like she was privy to some big secret and said “right this way” with a small tone of lightheartedness. He followed her and soon was looking at Grace, sitting at a miniscule table near the back.
Grace on the other hand of looking like everyone else, was in a blue and white sundress, but had a leather jacket sitting on the chair next to her and Kit gave a small smirk, he knew only Grace would wear a leather jacket with a dress.
She smiled back at him, looking up with her lapis lazuli eyes. “You look really nice,” Grace complimented. His bruise was already beginning to fade, thankfully.
Kit shrugged his jacket off of his body and set it down next to Grace's jacket. He bit his lip before leaning down and taking the risk of kissing her cheek. "You look lovely as well."
Grace blushed, leaning into the kiss slightly. When Kit sat down across from her, she beamed at him. “I’m so glad we decided to do this,” she said. She was feeling really nervous about this whole thing, but it didn’t show through her shield-like confidence.
Kit smiled, "I'm glad we could do this too, it's been nice getting to know someone who actually likes me for me."
She tilted her head curiously. “There are people that don’t like you for you? They must be crazy.”
"Have you seen all the girls at school? I mean they're nice but they haven't gotten to know me like you have..."
Grace shook her head. “No, they haven’t. Thankfully,” she said with a small, devious grin.
Kit's eyes widened just a tad, "What do you mean 'thankfully?'"
She folded her hands in her lap. “Their loss, my gain,” Grace laughed.
Kit smiled at her, when the waiter walked up to the table and pulled out his notebook and pen, then looked up at Grace and his eyes widened.
"Grace?"
Grace cleared her throat uncomfortably. “Hey, Jimmy.” She looked back down at the menu to ignore him. She could still feel his eyes on her.
Kit furrowed his eyebrows and looked at Grace and then back up at Jimmy.
They ordered their drinks and Jimmy left without another word.
"You know him?" Kit questioned her.
“You could say that,” she nodded, looking back up from the menu. “I dated him.”
Kit's face dropped a bit. Then his confidence went down, that guy was muscle, and looked ten times better than he did, well, that's what Kit thought. "Oh."
Grace noticed the change in his mood, biting her lip. “Hey, we broke up a long time ago.”
Kit nodded, "It's fine. Seriously."
“Why do you look so down, then?”
He gave her a (fake) smile, "I'm fine. Don't worry."
Grace decided to drop the subject and change to a happier one. “How was your day off yesterday?”
Kit let out a small breath, "Good, I slept basically all day and then decided to go on a run and that's basically it."
Grace nodded. “Sounds like a good day. You run?”
Kit gave a small nod, "Yeah. I was on cross country and track last year."
“Ugh,” she groaned. “Running. I prefer yoga. Except, I can totally see you as a runner.”
Kit laughed, "It's fun, you should come running with me..."
“I’d just slow you down,” Grace laughed.
"Nah, I don't run so fast, I like to jog."
“Maybe someday, then,” she conceded.
"Don't worry, I won't make you go far, wouldn't want you to break a sweat." Kit laughed.
Grace let out another small huff of laughter before continuing. “Maybe I should make you do yoga.”
"I did it once before, my ex took me-" Kit bit his lip, "nevermind but yeah, I've done it before."
“Well,” Grace faltered. “I mean, I’ll just make you go with me. It’ll be a completely different experience.”
"Alright, I'll go with you."
