The Adventure of Sharkboy, Lavagirl, and Wolfgirl (OC insert)

Chapter 2

Val's POV

we are in class right now. I'm sitting in the front next to my friend Marissa.

Max finished sharing his report to the class.

"And that's what I did this summer." Max says to the class.

It was quiet before everyone, except for me and Marissa, started to throw crunched up pieces of paper at Max. I was a little mad at this.

"Enough. Someone is picking that up. And it's not gonna be me!" Our teacher, Mr. Electricidad says to the class.

"We were supposed to tell true stories." Linus, Max's bully, says to Max.

"That is a true story." Max says to Linus.

"Does Lavagirl and Val have special powers?" Marissa asks Max. 

Marissa then smiles at me, believing Max's story. I smile back.

"There's no such thing as Lavagirl and Wolfgirl." Mr. Electricidad says.

Max looks through his journal and turns to a page that shows Lavagirl and Wolfgirl.

"She can... shoot lava out of her hands. And Wolfgirl, or Val, has sharp claws, hearing powers, a strong sense of smell, and night vision."

"Cool." Marissa says.

"How many people think Max's story is true?" Mr. Electricidad asks the class.

Me and Marissa are the only ones who raise our hands while everyone else were saying that the story isn't true.

"If it's true, why don't you bring Sharkboy and Lavagirl to class tomorrow? And have Val turn into Wolfgirl?" Linus asks Max.

"They went away. I don't know where they went. And Val lost her powers." Max answers.

"Have a seat Max. Linus, you're next." Mr. Electricidad says.

Linus stands up and waits for Max to pass by him. Linus then trips Max and everyone, except me and Marissa, laughs.

Linus walks up to the font of the class.

I had a feeling that I'm not going to like Linus' story.

"This summer, I met a new friend.. who was half dork, half boy. I called him Dorkboy." Linus starts to say his story.

The class started to laugh except for me, Marissa, and Max.

"But his real name was Max. We had him for dinner, but he stunk so bad that we all blew chunks." Linus says which creates more laughter.

I was so glad that Linus didn't bully me. But I also felt bad for Max.

"That's enough, Linus." Mr. Electricidad says to Linus.

The bell then rings, signalling that school was over.

"Linus, Max, stay." Mr. Electricidad says to Max and Linus.

"Come on, Mr. E." Linus complains.

"Class, what's my name?" Mr. Electricidad asks us.

"Mr. Electricidad." We all say at the same time.

"Mr. Electricidad, exactly. Not Mr. Electric, not Mr. Electrici-tha-tha-tha-tha." Mr. Electricidad says as we start walking out of the class.

I decided to wait outside of the classroom for Max.

Thrid POV

Max and Linus were standing by Mr. Electricidad's desk.

"Linus, you just earned a minus for your behavior today. This is a new year. Do you think you can be friends?" Mr. ELectricidad asks Max and Linus.

Max and Linus look at each other then back at Mr. Electricidad.

"No." Max and Linus say at the same time.

"Then it's been decided. You'll be the best of friends. Which means no more picking on Max, Linus." Mr. electricidad says.

Linus goes to get his things and leaves the classroom.

"Max. You're in the fourth grade. There are some good kids in this class. Find them. Make friends with them. Dreaming keeps you from seeing what's right here in front of you. This isn't a dream. This is the real world." Mr. Electricidad explains to Max.

Max starts writing in his journal before saying, "No dreaming. Got it. I'll try harder." He then gets his things and starts to leave the class.

"What do you have there?" Mr. Electricidad asks referring to Max's journal.

"It's my dream journal. It has all of my most precious dreams in it. I'll never part with it for as long as I live." Max answers before heading to the door.

"You're a good kid, Max." Mr. Electricidad says to Max.

Max turns around and smiles at him.

Max then leaves the class and heads to the front of the school with Val following behind.
