" Ugh! I feel so amazing" Diamond shouted coming into my room in only a towel

"And why is that?" I asked her leaning closer to the mirror to swoop my edges

"I shaved-everywhere, I feel like a whole brand new bitch" I snorted tossing down the brush and reaching for a styling strip

"I'm so serious! Look, feel" she threw her leg up so I could touch it, I frowned pushing it away

"Can you not" she chortled turning on her heels

"Don't be a hater, Shay. It's not cute" I 'hummed in response and ran my fingers through the front of my curled wig, I had a part on the side and the dark brown hair fell down to my ass . I whistled swooping the edges on the other side of the hair

"Hey can you do my make up??" I jumped at her return, this time she wore some black shorts and a white tank top

"Yeah" I spritzed setting spray on my face and got up so she could sit

"Do you have my color?" She asked gently, peering over into my make up case

"Yes, when I get my make up I make sure to get colors that would match you cause you always ask me to do it" I explained. She smiled up at me pushing her scarf back so I could start. Diamond and I are fraternal twins, which a lot of people don't expect be cause we look very different. She is much shorter with really light skin and loose curly hair, her face full of freckles which she got from our dad. Where as I am a lot taller with darker skin and tighter curly hair, closely resembling our mom.

"Are you gonna cover my freckles?" She peeked at me from one eye

"You want me to?" She shook her head closing her eyes again

"Are you okay? With your office building being set on fire and things" I pulled my lip between my teeth

"I guess. I'm just glad nobody got hurt. I just.." I trailed off making her open her eyes again

"You just?" She asked watching me switch brushes for concealer

"My client, Max. His mother hasn't been to any of our sessions for a long time, and I know he has a violent history. I don't want to assume anything, but when I asked about his mom he freaked out and bolted from the room." I paused biting my cheek,

"You think he hurt his mom? Or tried to hurt you?" She finished beginning to chew on her nail anxiously, I hesitated sighing

"I think? ...maybe it's not that deep. I have a gut feeling that something isn't right, you know?" She agreed exhaling deeply, the conversation died off into the silence and the both of us sat there momentarily the thought clearly lingering in our minds. I went back to blending her face and a few seconds later she perked up giving me 'the look'

"Oh yeah. You're going on a date with Sean tonight!" I rolled my eyes fighting back a smile

"In what way is this a date? You'll be there so how is this any different from the times we all go out together"

"Cause he asked only you! And you just invited me yourself because you know it's a date and you're nervousssss" she sang smiling wide at me

"No, I asked you cause I didn't want to hear you whining about us leaving you here alone" she crossed her arms leaning away from my hand

"You're lying. I don't know why you can't just admit that you like him" I shrugged pulling my lower lip between my teeth

"It just...I don't know" her face softened and she pulled one of her knees up into her chest, seemingly catching on to my hesitation. Dating is always something I've struggled with, my first relationship wasn't the greatest and since then it's been hard to say the least.

"Yeah I know. You know it's okay, right Shay? Like..." I shook my head clearing my thoughts

"Yeah" I hummed

"You guys look like the damn wonder twins" Diamond smirked at Sean rolling her eyes

"You don't think it's a little much?" I asked Sean glancing over his shoulder

"No. These people are all fucking rich, you'll fit right in" he mumbled adjusting his tie. I had on a back out satin red  dress that was floor length and had a split to the middle of my thigh on one side, it hugged my body perfectly, and Diamond's looked the same accept her dressed stopped just above her knees with no split. I rotated around smiling gently at the shape of my body, Diamond 'hmm'd satisfied with how we looked

"Okay, lets go so we aren't late. I really hope they have liquor and hot sugar babies I can steal from rich men because I refuse to third wheel with you two all night" I glared up at her from where I was buckling my heels, she swayed out of the room with a clutch tucked under her arm. I groaned quickly following behind her, we had settled on taking Sean's car to the event since it was the nicest and somehow managed to arrive on time. The place was huge and looked like something straight out of an award show, I waited in the passenger seat as Sean traded the car keys for a number with the chauffeur.

"Who the hell.." Diamond mumbled behind me leaning forward, I glanced at her expression

"What? What are you looking at-" and then I saw exactly what it was, a fire red Lamborghini Veneno turned into the parking lot entrance ahead of us. My jaw dropped slightly as I watched it swerve smoothly and stop behind us, the bright red car stood out amongst the sleek black and pearl white cars that filled the parking lot currently.

"It's fucking Josiah, Shay!" Diamond exclaimed shaking my seat excitedly, I froze refusing to look back

"It-it's who?" I gulped a little

"It's Josiah- and he has another boy with him?"

"Hakeem" I said gently feeling a smile tug at my lips, he had asked me out and I'd gone through so much that day and the next that I totally forgot to follow through and actually plan something. I jumped slightly when my door opened, I didn't notice Sean approaching. He laughed holding a hand out to me, I took it and he helped me out of the car and onto the side walk. I felt eyes on me and only then did I decide to finally look his way, Josiah and I instantly made eye contact. He had on a midnight black suit, his hair was freshly lined up and braided into a back and his beard was also lined up. I took in a quick breath and watched his eyes take me in from head to toe

"You okay?" Sean asked lacing his hand in mine, the gesture caught me off guard. We had held hands before it a non-romantic way multiple times but him doing it this time felt different, I guess he'd noticed Josiah staring at me.

"Yeah. Let's go in" I rushed out following him up the stairs

The lights came back up as the final speech was given, by Mr.Newhouse. Now everyone was moving into the dining hall for the dinner and performance part of the charity event.

"Oooohhhh my fuck" Diamond groaned clinging to my arm when I stood from the table
"Why did they need to talk so much? They didn't! It was so boring and I can promise you I remember none of what the hell they said" she complained swinging our hands as we followed the group of people into the dining room, Sean had disappeared about 10 minutes ago to talk to some people leaving me and my sister on our own.

"Agreed. They weren't even talking about the charity, so what could possibly require 3 hour long speeches? Nothing" I spotted our table over in the far right corner, there was a gold label with Sean's name on it.

"I have to use the bathroom, let's go to the bathroom first" she squeezed her legs together like a kid and bounced gently, I chortled and the two of us set off to find the bathroom
"I wonder where Josiah is" she sang his name raising her eyebrows at me

"Why? You want to talk to him?" I asked cocking an eyebrow up, she snorted

"No! But you do" I rolled my eyes
"Don't play. Y'all were having sex with your eyes in the parking lot earlier!" I cringed at how loud she was talking

"Oh really?" A deep voice rang from behind me and I froze feeling a set of hands on my waist from behind
