Luke's hands were shaking as he picked up his phone, staring at the bright screen. He realized he was nervous—Luke Hemmings, nervous? Because of a girl he'd never met? Sounds ridiculous but it's true.

Luke had been watching Val's videos for about seven months now.

He found her on his For You Page when he was just scrolling down aimlessly one night on tour; he was using a 'secret' account, still proud of himself for coming up with the username luke_rob.

He never followed anyone besides for Val and he never posted anything. His profile picture was the standard grey silhouette of a person that TikTok set for you automatically.

He watched Val's video a few times, laughing at all the same places. He liked her, she was funny.

The first video of hers that he had seen was when the Renegade trend was going around, and she did one of her own.

He spent eight days learning the dance in the privacy of his home, and when he had mastered it—he showed it to his bandmates. They laughed, obviously, but then Ashton and Calum wanted him to teach it to them as well.

This time, she was sitting in her car drinking from a takeaway coffee cup, it was raining outside wherever she was, and she was ranting about how she had met a cute stranger who complimented her on her outfit and she was so nervous she ran out of the coffee shop.

Luke didn't know why, but he felt jealous. Jealous that she was out there meeting strangers and thinking that they were cute enough to create a TikTok video about. He then wondered if that's how their fans felt sometimes when seeing pictures and videos of them meeting other fans.

Shaking the feeling off, he watched some of Val's older videos where she danced along to lyrics—all very popular songs to dance to.

Val had close to 2 million followers, her videos always reaching up to 1 million views. He'd even seen her videos reposted on a few meme pages he followed on Instagram.

He then came up with an idea, it was a ridiculous one, but Luke figured why the hell not. She'd never know it was him, she probably wouldn't even see his message.

He went onto her profile, admired her icon for a few seconds and then hit the DM button.

You should come up with a dance to a 5SOS song, could be cool ✌
