Feeling scared and vulnerable in a dark and cold room with him made me realize that I won't survive through this. His expressionless face and his cold stare, standing in front of the doorway with his arms folded, sent me chills.

He stared at me with a slight smile as I tried to set myself free.

"Oh, Amelia. Don't try, it won't work," he said, unfolding his arms and walking towards me. He crouched down, placing his hand on my cheek. "This would never happen if you didn't go out with Damien."

He looked at me for a couple of minutes before returning to the doorway, his back facing me. "I think you should calm down for a bit before I move you to another room." he grabbed the door handle and closed it slowly.

I could see his shadow standing in front of the door before he walks away, his shoes clicking on the floor.

Monday, September 8th, 7:00 Am

I sat down on the chair, setting my backpack on the floor on my side, and started eating my pancakes drizzled in syrup. My mom walked in, per usual, with a bottle of orange juice. She sets it down on the table as she took her seat.

"So, when I went to the store a couple of hours after Church, I saw your English teacher there. He said you were having trouble in English?"

"I'm not," I said, raising my eyebrows in confusion.

"Well, that's what he said. Anyways, he said he could tutor you every Wednesday afternoon."

"And what did you say?"

"I agreed to it." she shrugged, taking a bite from her soaked pancake.

I looked furiously at her. Not only is mom oblivious to what is going on with Mr. Berry but I have to spend time with him for a couple of hours alone.

"I'm going to go." I got up and grabbed my backpack off the floor, putting the straps on my shoulders.

"You haven't finished your food."

"Not hungry." I walked off, closing the front door behind me.

Ian can't drive me to school this morning because he had to go to work early. Now, I've decided to ride my bike to school since I was too lazy to wait for the bus to come pick me up. I still was furious at my mom for agreeing to Mr. Berry's offer without asking me first. He lied to her and took advantage of that situation so he can lure me into his classroom. I rode my bike faster. My heart pumping rapidly, my legs getting tired and I was starting to breathe even faster as everything passed me by. The sound of cars, the sound of chatter and the sound of a yell that came right next to me...

I glanced at my right side, seeing a black Volvo driving the same pace as me with the window down. I slowed down to a slow pace, turning my attention to that car.

"Do you need a ride?" it was him. He was grinning, looking at me then looking at the road.

"No, thank you. I'm fine." I said, starting to bring up my pace.

"You sure? You look tired," he said, checking me out. "Well, I'm not complaining." he licked his lips. Ew.

"Yeah, I'm gonna go."  I rode even faster than before which I'm going to regret later but I don't care. Being seen by him makes me want to puke. He actually thinks that it's normal to check an underaged girl out and following me around like a complete creep. I'm not letting that happen.

I was finally at school and no black Volvo insight. I climb off, my tired, sore legs hitting the pavement as I park my bike in those bicycle parking rack. I wipe off the sweat that accumulated on my forehead and walked inside the school where I saw Katy grabbing a soda can from the vending machine. I walk up to her with a slight smile, thinking of scaring her.

"Not so fast Dracula," she said, turning around to look at me with her Coca-Cola in hand.

"How did you know I was about to scare you?"

"I sensed you coming."

"Really?" not believing her for a second.

"I also took a whiff of your perfume. Dior?"

"It was a birthday gift from my grandma back in Arizona."

"Expensive. She must be rich."

"Yeah well, she's dead now."

"Wow. I'm sorry for your lost."

"Yeah, it's whatever."

10:20, lunchtime

We sat down at our table with our trays of food. The cafeteria bustling with students including a couple of teachers talking to each other as they were holding on to their wallet in front of the cafeteria's doors, yet we couldn't find Damien nowhere. He hasn't been here in the morning and we've tried calling his phone.

"Where is he?" Katy asked worriedly as she held onto her plastic spoon. We were having beef soup with a side of fries and a box of orange juice. It really wasn't that tasty.

"Don't know. He didn't tell me anything yesterday."

"Doesn't seem like the type of guy to not tell us that he won't be at school," she said, looking at me then at the door.

Jonathan's POV

Foolish of him to think that he could have Amelia all to himself. I could just imagine them snuggling each other as they watch the stars. Yeah, I knew they were planning a date at that little park; it wasn't difficult for me to find out. Breaking and entering could put me in jail but at least I'll get closer to her and she'll finally see how romantic I could be. Now that Damien is stuffed in my trunk like a rotisserie chicken for Thanksgiving, I won't have any competition. Yet, it seems like Amelia still cares about him. The look of both of them checking the door with a worried expression as they eat their lunch brings me to anger. Why can't you notice that Damien is a boy that can't protect you from the dangers of this world but I, a man who has learnt self-defence at a young age and has built muscles through years of training, could protect you from criminals? I could protect you. It wasn't hard beating up Damien while he was sleeping so comfortably on his bed. A few punches here and there did the job done and he was already gone.

Sooner or later you'll be crawling to me like a helpless girl and I'll finally hold you, comfort you and protect you from the people that hurt you. I could protect you from your alcoholic dad who hasn't stopped drinking since the day you packed your bags. And if not, I'll have to do it my way.
