Realisation hitting her not quite fast enough, October quickly threw her phone onto her bed as the call continued to connect. She stood there, frozen, until an unfamiliar voice sounded from the speaker. "Hello?" Hurriedly, October dived down and grabbed the phone with her non-injured hand, and propped it up on the headboard of her bed. Then, she ran her fingers through her red hair before glancing at the camera and smiling. "Uh, hey, Jaeden." She couldn't quite believe the sight that was on her phone screen. Sure enough, Jaeden Martell was sat on the other end at his desk, one of his signature beanies rested atop his head and a smile on his lips. "Wow," October exhaled. "I can't believe it's actually you." "Well, it is." Jaeden smiled, and the redhead let out a small laugh. "How's your busted finger holding up?" October held her hand up to the camera to show Jaeden the taped up fingers. "Could be worse, nothing I haven't done before." The American boy let out a shout of laughter. "So I wasn't wrong, you are a clutz!" "Oh, shush Jae." Octy attempted to hide her blush with the long locks of her hair, but was unsuccessful. On the other end of the phone, Jaeden started laughing. "What?" October whined, her hazel eyes widening at the thought of something embarrassing happening in front of Jaeden. "Nothing," Jaeden reassured, his smile reaching his eyes. "You're just really British." "And you're really attractive, what's your point?" The girl blurted before she could catch herself, but instead of panicking, October played it cool, one of the things she was surprisingly good at. Jaeden's green eyes windened, but he played along. "Ditto, Toby." October bit her lip at the compliment, and the pair sat in silence for a minute, just appreciating the others presence. "You know you're the only person that calls me Toby, right?" October asked, pushing her hair behind her ears so Jaeden could see her face. "I know, I like it that way." Jaeden responded simply, removing his beanie and running his hands through his hair.
