I gazed out at the sunny landscape as i pulled my robe against me tighter. the sunny skies doing nothing to soften my always damper mood. From my high position I could see people rushing and bustling about. A man in a suit with a briefcase. A young girl carrying more books than she could manage, but it was the woman with the bouncing little girl beside her, that captured my full attention. It stirred long ago memories of when i had a different life a better life.
I still remember it like it was yesterday
The sky was a drab grey, darkened by rain clouds. I knew it spelled doom from the moment i had stepped outside my house to face the day
Looking back it was the perfect precursor to everything that my life would become
I had a simple life once. one filled with order and structure.
Days filled with family and work nights filled with reading my bible and grading papers. It was not a dream life by any means and many days i had felt overwhelmed with loneliness yet i would give anything to go back to that mundane life
I used to be a first grade teacher and i had truly loved my job. my kids were my life especially since i had been commonly single for years. Kids of my own seemed like a farfetched dream
Dating for me had been extremely difficult for me, being a virgin who wanted to wait for marriage. Most men didn't have that kind of patience
I didn't judge then or get upset about that. I was who i was and my beliefs were solely my own
