new beginning

He woke up to see an unfamiliar roof above his head
He looked around at his surroundings and saw he was in a hospital like room he noticed he had been changed into patient clothing and had his wounds bandaged.

His eyes were cloudy and he felt no emotion as he remembered what happened the night before
His parents were killed and he survived what was he supposed to do now.

"DOCTER HES AWAKE"

A young girl around his age yelled as he walked into his room
She had long black hair and purple eyes She wore a black outfit with a butterfly like haori overtop
But the most notible thing about her was the sword on her hip
Hikari realized this was the girl who saved him from the creature.

"Who are you"
Hikari said in a monotone voice stripped of any emotion

"My names Kanae Kocho a demon slayer"
She said in a calm and soothing voice

"Demon slayer"
He said questioning what it was

"A demon slayer is someone who is trained to kill demons.
I must apologize I failed to save your family from the demon I hope you can forgive mean"
She says still in her calm voice
But Hikari noticed an hint of sadness as she asked for forgiveness

"No no it's fine you saved me right if anything I should be grateful to you" He says trying to make her feel better.  He would be lying if He didn't blame her a little bit, but He understands that there was nothing she could do so he decides he should try to accept what happened and forgive the girl who saved him

After that the doctor walked into the room

"Excuse me but I'm going to have to ask you to leave the room while we make sure everything is okay"
The doctor says to Kanae

"Off course" she says and she leaves the room

The docter tells me to take off my shirt to check the wound the bleeding has stoped by now even though the cut was pretty deep

"Judging by what I see hear it should be fully healed in a month or so .  You should be able to leave her within a week but you will need to be carful not to reopen the wound"

"I understand" I say as I start putting my shirt back on I was a bit sad that I had this ugly scar on my face and chest but nothing could be done

He leaves the room and Kanae comes back inside

"What happened after I fainted"
Hikari questioned

"The demon was killed and I brought you to this wisteria house a place for demon slayers to rest.
I also went back an buried you family"

"Thank you"

"It's the least I could do"
She says

"Do you think...  maybe... I could
Become a demon slayer"
He asked her as she gets a surprised look on her face

"Are you sure it's dangerous you could die at anytime"

"Yeah but it wouldn't make much difference I could still die at anytime even if I wasn't a demon slayer I could get an illness, run into a killer or worse another demon, but wouldn't it be better if I use my life that could end any day to prevent other people dying"

"Mm I guess your right...
Fine then I'll train you from now on you'll call me kanae sensei"
She says excitedly

"your not much older than me that's weird"

"I'm 15"

"I'm 14"

"That's enough of a gap"
She says

"It's still weird"

"Mou stop complaining"

"Ya ya sensei"

It's been a week and Hikari has just been discharged he's walking beside kanae who is taking him to her home she explains a little bit about the demon slayers, breath styles, Kibuzuji (probably spelled that wrong) Muzan, demons, Nichirin blades and how thing a work in the corps

There journey took three days but they finally made to her home it was a small house nothing big
(She isn't a pillar yet)

"I'm home"
Kanae says and I hear some footsteps walking towards the entrance

"Nee-san your ba...  who's this"

She says with a distrusting face

"This is Hikari Rōzu my new student"

"Hello"
He says timidly

"I don't trust him just kick him out he can find someone else to train him"

"Mou shinobu he's just like us he has nowhere else to go"

This makes her face change to one of sadness for a split second while looking at Hikari but quickly went back to one of distrust

"Fine but I'll be watching him"

As time went on Hikari started learning flower breathing but due to his body not being as "gracefull" If you will he couldn't do it properly so he took what he learned and made his own style the breath of roses taken from the breath of flowers it is based more on speed then sword abilities
So it was a much better fit for him

About half way through his training Kanae became the flower pillar and they moved to a bigger house witch they named the butterfly estate it was quite big and had a training area because of this Hikari started to improve at an even faster pace
After a year Hikari had turned 15
Kanae 16 and shinobu 12 (I'm pretty sure she's two or three years younger than kanae)
And he had mastered his breathing style it was finally time to take the final test on the wisteria mountain

"Well I'm off" he said as he started walking away from the butterfly estate

"Have a safe trip"
Kanae said and waves

"Don't die"
Shinobu says as she looks away

"I won't" he says as He leave the front gates

The trip to the testing wasn't long it was a day away to a wisteria filled mountain He walked into an open area where a lot of other participating were waiting there was no one who really stood out to me they all seemed like background characters he wasn't trying to be rude but they didn't have that strong person feel

The one thing that stood out to him was he was probably the oldest person there a lot of the looked 13-14 some younger he knew he started later than others but he expected more people his age

Two twin girls walked out and explained what was going on

"As you have noticed there is a lot of wisteria trees around here"

"Wisteria is poisonous to demons"

"Beyond this point there is no more wisteria trees and demons trapped inside"

"You must survive seven days inside to pass"

I start feeling nervous seven days stuck with demons isn't something I want to do but it's necessary for me to pass a steel my resolve and push forward into the demon infested forest

This is my new beginning.
