I shout as I enter the front door of the butterfly estate but no one was there too greet me back I started walking around the house to see absolutely no one was here
"Kanae must be on a mission or something but were is shinobu"
I say out loud
"Right here"
A voice says behind me
"Ahh shinobu... what are those wisteria leaves for"
I see she has a basket full of leaves
"I don't have enough strength to chop of a demons head so I have to find another way to kill them"
She says like it's common knowledge
"Is there another way"
I ask curiously
"Poison"
She says bluntly
"P-poison is that even possible"
"I'll have to find out now shut up and don't disturb me"
"Hey I just got back can you at least give me a hug"
"W-why would I do that"
She gets all flustered
"Because I'm your older brother"
"What are you talking about I only have one sibling, kanae"
"Come on we've lived together for a year we're practically family now come here and give your brother a hug" I start chasing her around the house as she's screaming for me to stop it was quite funny
"Ara Ara what's going on here"
Kanae says as she enters the front door to see Shinobu being chased by me
"Kanae help this idiot of an older brother won't stop chasing me"
She says angrily
"So you admit I'm your older brother"
I smirk and she gets all flustered again
"Shut up idiot" she walks away with her basket in hand
"Yo kanae I'm back"
Lifting my right hand into a small wave
"I can see that how was the exam"
"Pretty easy besides the giant hand demon that almost ate me"
I say and her face gets worried and she rushes over to me
"You were almost eaten are you okay! Did it hurt you tell me it didn't hurt you" she says worriedly
"I-I'm fine don't worry some friends I made saved me" I took a step back a little overwhelmed at all the attention she was giving me
"Thank god"
she says sounding like she was about to cry as she grabbed my hand and pulled it close to her
"I don't know what I would've done if I lost someone else"
By this point I'm blushing like crazy I know this is a very emotional moment but who wouldn't blush over this situation
"W-well I'm still alive and kicking as you can see they saved me before he could do much to me"
"Do much so he did something to you" she says worried again
"It's just a bruise don't worry"
I wasn't lying when I said I had just a bruise it was big because I got it when he grabbed me and his grub was a bit to tight but still it wasn't a lie.
"I see" she says calming down
"So what about you what happened when I was gone"
I said trying to change the subject
"Oh I just got back from a pillar meeting other than that nothing eventful happened"
"Oh so you weren't on a mission I assumed you were cause your a pillar and all"
"Well we aren't invincible we need to rest and take breaks from time to time" she says
"I see well let's go inside and not stand in the doorw-aaay" I say as I yawn
"Are you tired"
"Little bit I'm fine"
"I see"
We walk to the veranda looking out at the yard and sit down beside each other and sarted chatting to each other.
it was getting late and the sun was starting to set
"We need to eat dinner soon it's getting late"
"..."
"Hikari"
"..."
"You awake"
"..."
"Guess not"
She says as Hikari was sleeping while sitting up and she put his head in her lap
"Sleep well"
She whispers
