(At school, Riele is by her locker when the cheerleaders walk up to her)
Maeve:oh hey furball
Riele:(slams her locker and attempts to walk away)
Isabela:(holds Riele back) she's talking to you
Riele:(looks at Isabela) so what so you want me to say?
Maeve:how dare you talk back at me? Girls you know what to do
(The girls pounced on Riele,kicking and slapping her until they heard a voice from behind)
Owen:leave her alone
Maeve:stop defending her Owen(wraps her hands around his neck) she's not worth it
Owen:(removes her hands) you are the one who's not worth it(he goes to the other girls)I said LEAVE HER ALONE!
Girls:(left Riele and walked away)
Owen:are you okay (helps her up)
Riele:yeah I'm fine. Thanks for saving me
Owen: it's nothing,oh you have bruises all over your body
Riele:you don't need to worry about me, I'm used to the beatings and insults. Anyways, I gotta go to the nurse's office
Owen: I'll come with you
Riele: don't worry,it will ruin your reputation if you are seen talking to a goofball like me. Gotta go(runs off)
Owen: you are not a goofball,you are the coolest girl I know and I can't leave you alone(follows her to the girl's bathroom) I thought she was going to the nurse's office
Riele: where's my blade. Found it(she takes her blade and cuts herself)
Owen:what is she doing?(opens the door and sees her cutting herself) hey stop it
Riele:(she puts the blade in her pocket)
Owen:why are you hurting yourself?
Riele:(no response)
Owen:I asked you a question, didn't I?
Riele:yes you did and here's my answer,I hurt myself because it calms me ok, it just gets rid of the pain I feel anytime the girls beat me up or insult me
Owen:you know you can talk someone about it?
Riele:like who?
Owen:your mom
Riele: you know what, just leave me alone
Owen: why? Did I say something wrong?
Riele: LEAVE ME ALONE!
Owen: okay if you say so (he leaves)
Riele:(cries unconditionally)
Daniella:(hears the cry in the bathroom and knocks) hello, us someone in there?
Riele:(dries her face) hi Daniella, it's just me(opens the door)
Daniella: were you the one crying or there's someone else in there?
Riele:(nervous) crying? I didn't hear anyone crying. Anyways I gotta go. Bye!(runs off)
Daniella: Bye, I guess(enters the bathroom)
Riele:(stops by the chemistry lab) that was a close one
Ella: what was a close one?
Riele:(screams and falls on the floor) El, you scared me
Ella: sorry Rie,let me help up(attempts to help her, the ln she sees the cuts on her arm) Rie, what's this on your arm?
Riele:(scared and covers her arm) it's nothing
Ella: Rie, you know you can't lie to me
Riele: fine, I cut myself with a blade, my blade(shows her the blade)
Ella: why? Riele, you know you can tell me anything
Riele: I know El, it's just that you won't understand why I do it
Ella: I won't understand? Rie am your best friend
Riele: I know that, it's just----
Ella: it's just what, you don't trust me
Riele:I do trust you, it's just----
Ella: what Riele, give me a reason why you can't tell me your problems
Riele: you won't understand ok. You don't know how it feels to be in my position, to be insulted everyday, beaten up by my fellow girls and to lose my mom,(already crying) and I can't always trouble you with my problems.
Ella: Rie, you are my best friend, I am always here to listen to your problems. You don't need to cut yourself, just tell me your problems and everything will be fine. Now give mama a hug
Riele:(hugs Ella) thanks El
Ella: come on let's go. And throw that blade away
Riele:(throws the blade away)
