PART 15

(AT RIELE'S HOUSE)
(She enters the house, and walks to her room, closes the door and sits on thebed)
Riele: am all alone and it's all my fault, I allowed myself to be used by a boy I thought I loved and now my family is no more. I feel so stupid (cries herself to sleep)
(At the hospital, Kate goes to see Ruth)
Ruth: hey Kate
Kate: hey mom, how're you feeling
Ruth: am better now
Kate: mom, did you ever had a daughter?
Ruth: none I can remember, why?
Kate: I just saw a girl that I could recognize, it was as if I have seen her before
Ruth: are you sure?
Kate: yes mom. Anyways, when are you been discharged?
Ruth: tomorrow
Kate: seriously!? We can finally go on that picnic we never went on
Ruth: I can't wait either, I love you sweetie
Kate: love you too Mom
(IN LEIGH'S HIDEOUT)
(Leigh is talking to Owen about their next plan)
Leigh: son, we have to end this once and for all
Owen: mom if you don't mind me asking, why do you hate the Downs so much?
Leigh: well son, Kel's father killed my parents
Owen:(shocked) Kel's Dad killed my grandparents
Leigh: yes he did. It happened 15 years ago, my parents and his father were close friends, so on the 21st of August 2005, when the summer was almost over, my parents bought a new house and Kel's father was so jealous of my parents that he murdered them in cold blood and because of that, I made a decision to avenge their death by killing them all. I must avenge my parents
Owen: wow, I thought it was because Elle stole Kel from you and also because he rejected you. I didn't know it was that deep
Leigh: everyone thinks am the monster, that am heartless but Kel and his family are the real monsters
Owen: but what does his children have to do with all this?
Leigh: everything and now that I have killed his wife, himself and his two children, I have to devise a plan to kill his last daughter
Owen: so what are you suggesting?
Leigh: I would've suggested you go undercover but you've already blown your cover. I need to get info on her
Owen: don't worry mom, I'll help you
Leigh: you're such a good boy
Owen: mom, how about Jace? What are we gonna do about him?
Leigh: nothing, he's my son not my enemy, I can't harm him, so we'll do nothing to your brother
Owen: fine as you wish (leaves)
           (THE NEXT DAY)
(Meanwhile, Kate's mom Ruth has been discharged from the hospital)
Kate: I'm so excited, we'll go to the park and go for picnics together
Ruth: that will be lovely. Come on sweetie, let's go (she and Kate went to the waiting room where she sees Cooper) hum, excuse me, do I know you?
Cooper: I'm sorry
Ruth: are you Cooper Norman?
Cooper: yes I am, do I know you from somewhere?
Ruth: I don't think so but don't mind me, you may look like someone I know (leaves with Kate)
Cooper:(runs to Jace's room) Kelly, Kelly
Kelly:(jumps up with fear) Cooper,what is it?
Cooper: I just saw a lady that looked exactly like Elle
Kelly: which Elle? Is it Kel's Elle?
Cooper: yes, her
Kelly:(laughs) you're delusional Cooper, Elle is dead, she is never coming back ok
Cooper: Kelly, you don't get it, she looked exactly like Elle
Kelly: you're probably going through trauma cos your son is in a coma, so you're seeing things
Cooper: you're probably right, so how's Jace?
Kelly: the doctor says his condition has not changed
Cooper:(comes closer to Jace and talks to him) fight this son, come back to us
(In Jace's mind, he sees Leigh and the Downs family)
Kel: Jace, you have to go back
Jace: go back to where?
Kel: you have to go back to reality
Jace: reality? I'm already in reality
Benjamin: no Jace, this is all in your mind
(Suddenly, Leigh comes out from nowhere and aims a gun at Riele)
Leigh: I'm gonna kill you (about to shoot)
Jace: no (runs and hits the gun and the bullet went to another direction) thank God you are ok
Riele: thanks Lee, you saved me
Kyla: you need to go back to save her
Downs: go back Jace, go back
(Back in reality, Jace wakes up)
Jace: Dad?
Cooper: Jace my boy, you're indeed a fighter
Kelly: hold on, let me call the doctor (goes to call the doctor and comes back with him)
Doctor:(checks his vitals) everything is ok, your son is fine
Cooper: thank God
Doctor: he just has a head wound and it has been treated, so you don't have to worry about him
Cooper: thanks doc
Doctor: you're welcome (leaves)
Cooper:(looks at Jace) how are you feeling?
Jace: other than the feeling of carrying a thousand bowls on my head, I'll say am fine
Kelly: I've gotta say Coop, you raised a pretty strong young man
(They all laugh)
Cooper: what made you wake up?
Jace: I don't know why I just have this feeling that it's my duty to protect Riele, so that's why I woke up
Kelly: aww, when I tell Ella, she's gonna flip (goes to call Ella)
Ella: why is mom calling? (Answers the call) hey Mom
Kelly: hey sweetie, you need to get to the hospital now
Ella: why?
Kelly: cos, Jace is awake
Ella:(jumps up from her bed) what? Jace is awake?
Kelly: yes he is and tell Riele
Ella: ok mom, am on my way (hangs up and dials Riele's number) oh crap, I forgot she doesn't have a phone (dials her landline)
Riele:(sluggishly answers) who is it?
Ella: Rie, it's El, you need to get to the hospital now
Riele: why?
Ella: I've got no time to explain just get your ass to the hospital
Riele: fine (hangs up and goes to the hospital)
Ella: you came
Riele: well, you didn't give me much of an option. Why did you call me here?
Ella: Rie you won't believe this but Jace is awake
Riele: you're lying
Ella: am not, come on let's go to his room (leads her to his room) see for yourself
Riele: Jace?
Jace: Rie?
Riele: Jace (runs to hug him)
Ella: they need privacy (leaves with her parents)
Riele: (releases him) how?
Jace: I woke up because of you
Riele: me? (Puzzled) but I thought you never loved me?
Jace: I have always loved you Rie, you're smart, beautiful, funny and although you've gone through a lot, you're still that perfect girl to me. I never say this often but I LOVE YOU RIELE, I love you and can die for you
Riele:(blushing but later her reaction changed) that's it. I can't keep risking the life of everyone I love especially you and that is why I have decided to go back to Canada, I'll stay with my aunt Reiya
Jace: no Rie, you can't
Riele: I have to, don't forget this: I LOVE YOU JACE (kisses him) Goodbye Lee
Jace: goodbye Rie
Riele:(leaves the room)
(After 5 minutes, Ella enters the room)
Ella: how are you feeling?
Jace: a little sad but I'll pull myself together
Ella: so, what are we gonna do about Owen?
Jace:(sighs) I don't know El, I don't know why he's helping her
Ella: I don't quite get the reason why Leigh is so bent on killing the Downs?
???: I think I know why
Both: Ricardo
Ricardo: hey bro, how are you feeling?
Jace: better than before, wait you said you know why Leigh wants to kill the Downs
Ricardo: yes Jace, it was 2 weeks ago, I heard Kel tell Cooper and Kelly that Leigh's parents were killed accidentally by his father
Jace: hold up, his father accidentally murdered Leigh's parents?
Ricardo:yeah, that's why she's so hell bent on killing them
Jace: well, she can stop now, cos there's no Downs alive
Ricardo: wait, you mean Kel and his children are dead?
Ella: yeah but Riele is not but she doesn't have to bother about her cos she's going back to Canada next week
Ricardo: well, that's too bad. You have to be careful bro and don't forget to protect her
Jace: swear it
Ricardo: you're a strong dude Norman (leaves)
Ella: what are we gonna do Lee? Rie can't go back to Canada
Jace: there's nothing we can do about it, maybe it's for the best that she just leaves
Ella: probably for the best? Jace, my best friend is about to move to a different country and you're telling me it's for the best
Jace: how do you think I feel? I just confessed to her and she's leaving. I don't like the fact that she's leaving but we need to think about ourselves for a  change, I almost died trying to save her life, so it's probably for the best that she moves, but mark my words, I'll find Leigh and I will end her
Ella: okay Lee, I get it. You can put down your superhero cape down now. Thank you
Jace: you're a delight El
Ella: I know

Jace is finally awake and he swears to kill Leigh. Riele is going back to Canada to avoid putting any other person in danger. What will happen next? Watch out for the next chapter
