Chapter 12

(2 weeks later)
*Ellie POV*
Today is the gender reveal and I just got a text saying the package from Kensi and Deeks arrived.
"Torres you better hurry up" I yell
"I'm coming" he says
He comes down the stairs and walks over to me.
"What's up" he asks
"The package from Kensi and Deeks is here" I say
"Okay." He says
I open the front door and a box in pink and blue wrapping paper is sitting there. On the top with sharpie it says 'Don't open until the reveal'. I pout but grab the box. We go back inside and set it in the coffee table.
"When is everyone arriving" I ask
"They should be getting here soon. Let's FaceTime Kensi and Deeks and thank them for doing this while we wait" Nick suggests
"Yeah. I like that idea" I say
"Well I can be pretty smart" he says
"Oh hush up" I say
Nick grabs his phone and FaceTimes Deeks. After a few rings it connects.
D-Nick what's happening
N-hey Deeks. Is Kensi there
D-yeah. She's just working on something. Let me get her. KENSI!
K-WHAT!?
D-Nicks on the phone
N-so is Ellie
Quickly Kensi's face appears
K-did you open it yet
E-no. The reveal isn't for another few minutes
K-oh
N-we just wanted to thank you for doing this
K-you're welcome. I couldn't really think of an idea so this was all Deeks's doing.
E-well still. Thank you both.
D-you're welcome. Have you guys talked about names at all
N-no we haven't
E-yeah no. But I do have an idea for if it's a boy
N-I do too
K-why haven't you thought of any girl names
E,N-I think it's a boy
D-but what if it's a girl? You will need to decide on a name if it is one
N-yeah we'll cross that bridge if we get there
E-hey I here people coming so we're going to go. Talk to you later
D-ok bye
We end the call and Nick puts his phone away. Then there is a knock at the door. I get up and open it.
"Hey Ellie" Gibbs says
"Hey Gibbs. Come in" I say
After a few minutes they're all here. Everyone is sitting and talking when there's a knock at the door again.
"Nick are we expecting anyone else" I ask
"I don't know why don't you go answer it" he says
I go to the door and open it. Standing outside is my parents and brothers.
"What? What are you guys doing here" I ask
"Sis did you really think we'd miss the reveal of our soon to be Niece or nephew" George asks
"How did you know about the reveal" I ask
"Your boyfriend called us and told us about it. He wanted to surprise you" John says
I go over to Nick and kiss him.
"Thank you" I say
"You're welcome" he says
"Alright let's get this going" Robert says
"Okay okay" I say
Nick and I go over to the box and sit down.
"Why is the box so big" Casey asks
"Deeks" Nick says
"Ah that explains a lot" The Director says
I open the box and out flies a blue and pink ballon. I reach in and grab out another box.
"I thought we were having a baby not a box" Nick asks
That causes everyone to laugh and me to slap nick on the arm. I hand him the box and he opens it up. Inside is a onesie but it's a neutral color.
"I guess they are also giving us a baby gift at the same time." I say
Nick hands me the box that was inside of that. I open up the box and gasp. I hand it to Nick and he smiles then gives me a kiss.
"Well what is it" mom asks
I reach into the box and pull out a blue onesie that says 'property of NCIS agents'. Some people 'Awe' while others cheer and some laugh and smile.
"Have you guys thought of a name" the director asks
"Um well Nick and I both have a name. We haven't discussed it yet" I say
"Let's hear them" Jack says
"Okay. Nick you say yours first" I say
"Ok. My name I thought of is Leroy Qasim. And if Leroy sounds too old for him as he's little we can call him Leo." He says
"I was thinking the same thing" I smile
"Great minds think alike" Nick says
"Wait why Leroy Qasim" My dad asks
"Well Leroy is for Gibbs because he has been a father figure for Nick and me while we are working at NCIS" I say
"And Qasim is in honor of the person Ellie was going to get married to but died soon after he proposed. He was special to Ellie which makes him special to me" Nick says
"That's so sweet" mom says
"Boss you okay" McGee asks
We all look at Gibbs and he has a smile smile on his face but he hasn't moved. Nick and I get up from where we are and go over to him.
"You okay Gibbs? We can change the name of you don't like it" I say
"No no. It's perfect. I just didn't know I meant that much" Gibbs says
I look and he has tears in his eyes.
"You're important to us Gibbs. Really important. My parents aren't around anymore and you're like a father to me so would you also be an honorary grandpa" Nick asks
"Of course" Gibbs smiles
He sheds a few tears and we both give him a hug.
"Awe you guys broke Gibbs" Delilah says
"They did not break me" Gibbs says
"Yes they did. Don't be so stubborn Jethro" Jack says
"Wait is his name Leroy or Jethro" dad asks
"It's Leroy Jethro Gibbs" Ducky says
"Alright alright. We get it. They broke me. Can we move on" Gibbs asks
"Yes yes. Let's eat" I say
We all go to the dining room and sit down. We get food on our plates and start eating and talking. Two hours later everyone leaves and now Nick and I are doing dishes. I look at him and he seems to be lost in thought. I take the towel and whip it at him.
"Ow. What was that for" he asks
"You okay?" I ask
"Yeah. I'm just thinking" he says
"I know that. What are you thinking about" I ask
"It's just crazy how we thought of the same name" he says
I look at him and I can tell that's not what he was thinking about, but I play along anyways.
"Yeah. I mean the Leroy makes sense but I was surprised that you wanted Qasim as the middle name." I say
"Well I know how much you cared about Qasim and how you still care deeply about him. So we should honor him" he says
"Thank you" I say
"You're welcome. What's his last name going to be" he asks
"Well, I like where things are going for us. So maybe if you're okay with it he could have the last name Torres" I say
I turn to him and he turns towards me. We both lean in and start kissing.
"I love it" he whispers when we pull apart
We finish up the dishes and then we go to the living room.
"Do we have ice cream" I ask
"No. Why" Nick asks
"Leo wants ice cream" I say
"Of course he does. Oh joy. This is the beginning of the cravings. That means it's just going to get worse" Nick sighs
"I hate you" I say punching him lightly
"Love you too" he says
He stands up from the couch and holds his hand out.
"What" I ask
"Come on. We're going out" He says
"I don't wanna" I groan
"Too bad. Let's go" he says
I grab his hand and he pulls me up off of the couch. We go outside and get in his car. He starts it up and drives off. After awhile we are in front of a house.
"This is not an ice cream parlor, a diner, nor a grocery store. Where are we" I ask
"We're at Jimmy's house. Him and Breena weren't able to come to the reveal so I asked if he had ice cream. He said he does. So we are here to tell them the baby's gender" Nick says
"Alright. Only because there's ice cream" I say
We get out and go up to the front door. Nick knocks and Breena answers it.
"Hey come in. Jimmy is just putting Victoria to bed" she says
We walk in and we go to the kitchen.
"Jimmy told me you were having cravings for ice cream. We have Neapolitan, Mint Chocolate Chip, and moose tracks" Breena says
"I'll have some moose tracks please" I say
"Sure. Anything for you Nick?" She asks
"No thank you. I'm fine" Nick answers
"Hello Nick and Ellie. How is the baby doing" Jimmy asks walking in
"It is wanting sugar" I say
"Yes. I heard" Jimmy says
Breena passes me some ice cream and I start eating.
"So Whats the gender" Jimmy asks
"Well you two will be one of the aunts and uncles of Leroy Qasim Torres" I say
"It's a boy!?" Breena exclaims
"Yeah" I smile
"That's amazing guys. I'm so happy for you two. How did Gibbs respond to the name" Jimmy asks
"He teared up" Nick says
"You guys broke Gibbs" Breena says
"Delilah said the same thing" I say
"Wow. It's rare for Gibbs to cry" Jimmy says
"He didn't full on cry. The tears stayed in." Nick says
We spend some more time talking and then we leave an hour later. We thank them then go back home. We go inside and upstairs to bed. We change into our pjs then lay down.
"I love you Luis" I say
"I love you too Charlie" he says
I curl into Nicks side and drift off to sleep.
