THE DON - aka the Boss. The undisputed leader of the crime family.
UNDERBOSS - Second in command. Usually, a family member, groomed to take over the business.
CONSIGLIERE - Adviser to the Boss.
CAPOS - "made" members of a family who lead a crew of soldiers.
SOLDIERS - "made men" the lowest members, but still, command respect. To become made, soldiers are required to take an oath of silence or candidates are sometimes required to commit murder.
ASSOCIATES - Commit crimes under the protection and direction of made members. Associates are not made members.
