Snowfall had began a few weeks ago and Honora couldn't be happier to see Hogwarts covered in snow, the sight was truly something to be seen. The weather reminded her of the cold wintry weather at Ilvermony. It was cold there for most of the year, really only being warm when she wasn't in school for the summer months.
Although her face was pink from the cold air already, she walked through the courtyard and over the bridge to the grounds that looked over Hagrid's. She was hoping to dig up some katniss by the lake for house elves to cook, along with just sending another owl to Sirius with his Christmas present. "Harry?" Harry was returning from Hagrid's and seemed quite surprised to run into her.
"Honora – hi."
"Trip to Hagrid's?" She asked smiling taking a few steps closer to him. "Yeah–yeah I was just there. What are you doing out?"
"Just out for a walk, no one was crazy enough to go with me though. It really is freezing today. .You should go in before you get frostbite." She said noticing Harry's deep red nose and ears.
"Right thanks." He smiled quickly while she nodded and began past him. "Honora?"
"Yeah?"
"I was just wondering, maybe if you'd want to, like to maybe, go to the ball with me?" Honora was taken aback with his question. Surely he wasn't serious but the way he almost shook with nervousness she could tell he was-or maybe it was just the cold weather. It was almost kind of adorable the way he looked at her, his green eyes gleaming for an answer. Guiltiness struck her stomach as she began to speak but she didn't know why. It wasn't as if he was asking her on a date-it was just to the dance and he as a champion–needed a date. They were friends after all. .Why wouldn't he ask? Nothing more than that, she finally convinced herself. Still a gut wrenching feeling ground at her insides. Realizing she hadn't answered and was just staring at him she felt herself blush before she began to stutter.
"Harry that's so sweet, I appreciate it really. .but I've already been asked." Honora felt horribly for letting Harry down. Honestly she wasn't planning on things happening with Cedric but they had and she was happy with that. She thought it was strange that he didn't already know about them, it seemed everyone else had even if she had tried to keep things quiet. Honora cursed Rita Skeeter in her head for a moment before remembering she was mid conversation once more.
"Ok. Great. Fine. No problem. Good." He started to trip on words making the guilt in her stomach grow. Honora didn't know why but it did seem as if Harry was upset she'd said no. And honestly she was a bit disappointed she had to say no also.
"Harry I–" She took another few steps closer not really knowing what to say next but at least an apology. "–I'm sorry." Harry backed away from her but he only turned his head and gave a faint smile before returning to the castle.
