Recap 

Arjun: Well everything happens for a reason and this happened for a reason too. In my past after my well-known break up on campus I was failing my classes miserably, I was out of touch with all the syllabus and I did not know how to cope up because if I mess up my semester exams I will lose the place in athletic competitions too... I was so afraid ...................

Arjun's POV

Well, everything happens for a reason and this happened for a reason too. 

After my famous messy break up it was getting harder for me to concentrate. The head of the department knew my caliber and talent so he tried to engage me as much as he can into all the college activities. After the semester exams, I have got to know that I had two backlogs and I got an official prohibition letter from dean restricting me from playing the upcoming season because there was a minimum requirement for grades and I have failed to maintain them... Just when I was devastated by the news my mom started calling 

Mom: Would you dare tell me what exactly did you do to get a prohibition from the sport you really love?

Me: Mom, you know everything then why are you asking me to repeat?

Mom: Don't you give me that attitude young man. After your dad's demise, I have done everything in my power to take care of your needs and this is what you give me? What happened to that sweet & smart boy who used to come home with lots of accolades for being that overachiever in his class. Who was a star in his academics? 

Me: Mom, I am sorry? I will try to clear them up but I am no longer a star, I am failing and being dumped. I am kicked off from my sport which I really love. Mom, I really tried to concentrate on these exams but I couldn't the pain kept coming back. Even you had to go to that business tour and I felt empty ... I loved her mama

Mom: Look, I will be home as soon as possible and we will try together okay? Don't worry you are still that star you just have to wait for the night for you to shine

Me: Mom, now you are being philosophical 

Mom: You can't stop me from being philosophical, now gear up and try harder. I love you mere ankon ka tara ...

Me: Mom stop.. I love you too 

I was still in a doubt on how will I achieve what I promised to my mom then you came around. It was you, you heard everything, you saw me in tears, you heard everything. I thought you were going to laugh or make fun of me but you didn't. You just came and sat beside me in silence

You: So I am a nerd and I am trying to apply to become a tutor for the incoming new students in all the subjects. I need a favor, I would be practicing my teaching skills with you and you have to listen to it and tell me how am I doing. It shouldn't be empty compliments to make me happy, I will test you every now and then. If you do well I am a good teacher or else

Me: Look you don't have to sympathize with me ... I can study by myself

You: I know you can study by yourself, you are capable but please help me, let's start from today at 5 pm?

Me: Okay

You: Okay

Me: Myra ...

You: Yeah

Me: Thank you 

From that day you had helped me study, you had become my mentor, teacher, and friend. You adapted different methods to make me learn and that is how I passed and was able to make the team again. Even my own mom was shocked at my performance again and she had loved the contribution you did in my education and she was even more impressed when she met an amazing woman like you

I had a career in my dad's business but I gave it up to start something different. It was your idea, you were my inspiration, your techniques, patience, dedication, and compassion has shown me a way to start my own business. You don't know how grateful I am for what you did for me...... I was so grateful, thankful... Every moment I...

Myra: Is this why you had wanted to marry me? 

Me: What?

Myra: You were thankful and grateful is that why?

Me: Look I don't know how to tell you anything because if I do I am afraid you might misunderstand my words 

Myra: You know I never thought I did anything great in my life, I never felt important. I didn't feel like I achieved a lot. I always felt like this life was so ordinary but then you came and now I feel like I have achieved something looking at you standing before me telling me how my little efforts added value to your life. Now I feel like my life is of some worth because here you are a successful businessman showing light to all others who are going through the same trouble. Thank you for the gratefulness because nowadays no one cares about what we do for them but you do so...I mean my own dad didn't care but you did ...

I saw her in tears and I know I have to do something. I walk over to her and hug her. She gave in and hugged me tighter. We are seated over there on a bench hugging for a while

Myra: I am sorry you had to see that 

Me: That's okay... Maybe people are selfish, they are ungrateful but I really do value you so much that I want you in my life.

Myra: You really want me? With all my issues?

Me: Yes, with all your issues and more
