SIXTY-ONE: WHO IS THE KANIMA?

I grab my bat as the door opens, I see Allison, Jackson, Stiles and Lydia rush into my house, I quickly lock the door whilst Lydia gives me strange looks, "What? I was stabbed two days ago. Makes a girl a little paranoid." I argued before jamming a chair under the door handle making it unmovable, "Plus there's been some break-ins around the block." I lower my bat leaving it near the door, Allison does a facial gesture at Jackson, he sighs, "Lydia, follow me. I need to talk to you for a minute." I look weirdly, "Go to my room, Gran doesn't like other people touching her stuff when she's not here." They nod disappearing upstairs, I look outside the blinds at my door to see no one there, I walk into my kitchen taking my pain killers, and holding onto the counter for a second to breath.

I text Gran letting her know everything that is going on as I grab a bottle of water and make my way back to Allison and Stiles, who were having a hushed discussion. "What was the test?" I ask picking up my bat, "We made edible crystals in Chem today and they put the venom on the crystals." I nod leaning against the shoe rack at the door, trying to think for an explanation or excuse for Lydia's failing.

After it gets dark, I close my eyes to see my own house in my view, "They're outside." I informed Allison and Stiles, they both rushed to look out the blinds and by the looks on their faces I was right. "I'm going to hide Lydia. You two come up with a plan." I kept the bat in my hands as I made my way up the stairs, I heard a loud crash meaning someone was inside, I see Lydia leave my room, "Someone's trying to break-in. Go back into my room." I usher Lydia into my on-suite bathroom, I put Mountain Ash around the room unnoticed by Lydia, as I told her I was inspecting it to make sure it's safe. "Lydia you need to lock the door and stay quite. Do you understand me?" She nods stepping inside I sealed the Mountain Ash square just before Lydia closed the door. I raised my bat looking towards my room window that was open for some reason to see some familiar goop, Allison walks in and I gesture it to her, she informs Stiles telling her to stay here as she held her crossbow.

I make my way downstairs, I see Stiles on the ground Isaac on top of him, I swing hitting him in the shoulder and I hear a snap, "Get the hell off him." I spat at the injured werewolf as I look at Stiles to make sure he's ok, a massive smile was planted on his face, I hand him the bat to protect himself as I stare down Isaac, who was beginning to stand back up, I walk to my front door seeing Isaac had removed the lock and chair, I grabbed my house keys and walk out through the door, locking it and walking straight up to Mr. Sourwolf and Boyd.

"Hello boys.." I smirk looking them both up and down, "You sure you should be out here Hope?" Derek steps towards me, getting his face very close to mine, I blow a gust of breath in his face, "It's a good day to be alive, wanna know why?" I ask, Derek moves back a little raising an eyebrow, "You see, we both know that your betas are bitches, no offence Boyd." I raise my hand at the dark boy that was just watching how Derek interacted with me, "They can still get past your little human friends, and you can't hide Lydia from them." I nod agreeingly, "True, but I believe you underestimate me, Sour wolf." Derek growls lowly as a smile creeps on my face, "How so Hope?" I began circling the Alpha slowly, making him to spin keeping an eye on me.

"You see Lydia is currently surrounded by Mountain Ash and you know what that means..." I gesture him to continue my sentence, "That even if we find her we can't get her." "Correct, it also means I'm going to prove that your test was inefficient. Care to explain why Grumpy?" I asked stopping once my house was behind me again, he shrugged, "Let me, if Lydia was the Kanima there would be no way for her to exit the circle and before I came out here I saw my window open with Kanima venom on it, which means it's..." I trail off eagerly waiting for Derek to conclude what I was suggesting, "It might not Lydia." I clap condescendly at Derek, Boyd looked rather impressed. "Anyways I should get back inside, Scott'll be here in 5..4..3..2..1."

As I arrived at my door and unlocked it you could hear crashing and lights going out, I moved out of the way allowing Scott to throw Isaac and Erica onto the lawn. Stiles, Scott, Allison and I stood on my porch together all looking at Derek and Boyd, "I think I'm finally getting why you keep refusing me, Scott. You're not an Omega. You're already an Alpha of your own pack." Stiles and Allison share a look while I send Scott a proud smile. "But you know you can't beat me." Derek smirks, "I can hold you off until the cops get here." Almost on cue we could hear police sirens wailing in the distance, I heard a hiss and some footsteps above me, I look up towards the noise, we all run off the porch looking up at the roof to see the Kanima, it screeches at us before disappearing, "Get them out of here." Derek looks at Boyd whilst nodding to Isaac and Erica.

Seconds after Lydia comes into view, "Would someone please tell me what the hell is going on?" "It's Jackson." Scott whispers worryingly. Scott and Stiles go back into my house, Allison drives Lydia home and gives her a crazy explanation to what happened, as I turn to Derek, "There's only one way she could've gotten out of that seal." "I know Hope, she's Human." Derek runs off with Boyd, I walk into my house taking a seat on my couch, "What seal?" Scott questions, "Have you heard of Mountain Ash?" Scott shakes his no as Stiles nods, I clear my throat, "Basically, it can be used to create a barrier that keeps out the supernatural or trap the supernatural. I surrounded Lydia with it just incase my optimism was wrong, that way if she was the Kanima, she couldn't leave the bathroom but as a human she could, therefore clearing her with Derek." Stiles grins brightly looking at me proudly, "Now what to we tell the police?" Scott asked, I shake my head no, "Go find Jackson before he hurts someone, I'll talk to the cops." Stiles and Scott agree rushing out the house, I delete every text I sent today just in case they want to check my phone.

I climbed into my closet in my room to make it look like I was hiding, I hear the sirens loud and clear before they went silent. I held my breath, to make it look like I was afraid as I hear foot prints around my house. "Hello? Police is anyone here?" I slowly open my closet door shaking after hearing the Sheriff's voice as I step out looking terrified and in shock.
