The Sheriff told us he didn't know about this because there was a six car pile up the same night Jessica was killed. Stiles tells his dad to keep playing it because Matt would've had to pass that camera to get Jessica. Scott tells the Sheriff to rewind the footage as he caught sight of Matt. "That's him, that's Matt." I pointed to him in the footage, "all I see is the back of someone's head." The Sheriff dismisses my statement, "Matt's head, yeah. I sit behind him in history. He's got a very distinct cranium, it's weird." I giggle lightly as the Sheriff asks if Stiles is crazy, "All right fine, then look at his jacket, huh? How many people do you know who wear black leather jackets?" "Millions literally."
Scott suggested to look at different camera angles that he would be walking towards the camera showing his face. "Right there. Stop. Stop. See? There he is again." Stiles points out the back of Matt's head again, which the Sheriff reminds him that it's the back of his head. "Okay, but look. He's talking to people." Stiles gestures, I look up at the screen to see Gran and Melissa talking to Matt, I pull out my phone.
G: Hope, what's going on?
H: Did you see Matt at the hospital the night Jessica died?
G: I saw tons of people that day Hope, and who's Matt?
H: Matt the guy I got tickets for the rave from. Here I'll send you a picture.
G: Oh yeah, I was talking with Melissa before we stopped him for dragging mud around the hospital. What why?
H: We think Matt was the person who killed Jessica.
G: Alright text me if you need anything else from me.
H: Will do love you Gran.
G: Love you two."We got shoe prints alongside the tire tracks at the trailer site." The Sheriff flips through some papers, "And if they match that puts Matt at the scene of three murders. The trailer, the hospital and the rave." I catch everyone up, "Actually, four. A credit card receipt for an oil change was signed by Matt at the garage where the mechanic was killed." The Sheriff stands up informing us that he was there a few hours before Stiles arrived at the garage. "All right, Dad, if one's an incident, two's a coincidence, and three's a pattern, what's four?" Stiles asks in a rush, "Four's enough for a warrant. Scott call your mom back, see how quick she can get here. Hope you do the same with your grandmother, if I can get an official ID, I can get a search warrant. Stiles, go to the front desk. Tell them to let them in when they get here."
I pull out my phone doing what the Sheriff asked, texting my gran to get here ASAP and kept sending until I got the response that she's on her way and that she's picking up Melissa on the way. "They're on their way here." I told the Sheriff, he looked at the door surprised and worried, I turn to see Matt behind Stiles with a gun. "Matt. It's Matt, right?" Matt nods, the Sheriff tells him that whatever is going on that he guarantees there's a solution that doesn't involved a gun. "You know, it's funny you say that because I don't think you're aware of just how right you are." Matt has become very dark very quickly, "I know you don't want to hurt people." The Sheriff spoke.
Matt then went on saying he actually wanted to hurt a lot of people and that us four weren't on his list originally but he could persuaded, one way is by trying to call someone on their phone like Scott was doing, Scott stopped immediately, but since Stiles was blocking most of me I was able to send a quick text to Gran, telling her the situation. Matt yelled at us to put our phones on the table, I did so quickly turning it off just in case Gran tried to text back and blow my cover. "Now we're going to lock you up Sheriff." Matt smirked.
The Sheriff was handcuffed to a bar near the containment cell Isaac was in a couple of weeks ago, and I just cleared all the files that Matt was involved in. "Deleted. And we're done. And, so, Matt, since all the people you brutally murdered deserved it because they killed you first, whatever that means, we're good here, right? I'll just get my dad, and we'll go, you know, you continue on the whole vengeance thing. Enjoy the Kanima." Stiles rambles after hovering over my shoulder as I deleted the files, I didn't remove them from trash though, so we can recover them later.
