Like Godzilla and many of the other kaiju that inhabit the world of Remnant, Varan hails from a time before humans and faunus. However this massive gliding reptile, who appears closely related to varanids (aka monitor lizards such as Komodo Dragons), is perhaps one of the most mysterious kaiju, as he's ever rarely seen. He makes his home in the mountains of the continent of Anima where the kingdom of Mistral is. One village in particular believes the creature to be the reincarnation of a demon in their folklore named Baradagi. Since his first appearance, four years after Godzilla's initial appearance, Varan has only been sighted a small handful of time, most of which involve the creature leaving destruction his wake and the vanishing without a trace. Time will tell when the creature shall return and if he shall become an ally with a dark force attempting to spread itself across the world of Remnant.
