River when you roll your eyes at him for smoking. (You were at his house for a project.)
River and Y/n hated each other. One always had to be the better person. Yet they never talked to each other, it was a tension in the air kind of feeling. His mother insisted you stay for dinner and so you did. I'm a good person for staying and not being rude. Youthought. During dinner River pulled a cigarette out of his pocket. You rolled your eyes a bit at his actions.
He blew the smoke in your face and said: "What's a'matter, princess?"
"Please don't call me that." You said politely. "It's getting late, I should head home. Thank you so much, Mrs. Phoenix, for the delicious meal."
"You're welcome, darling. River, sweetie, why don't you walk her home?" River's mother suggested.
"It's fine, I only live thirty minutes away." You say and put your bag on your shoulder.
"Please, darling, it's dark and in the middle of nowhere. Let River walk with you." Mrs. Phoenix pushed.
"What about River? He'll have to walk home alone." You said nicely.
"River's a strong boy, he'll be fine." Mrs. Phoenix pushed harder, she really wanted River and you to get along.
"If it's okay with River." You gave in with a sigh.
"What? Uh-sure." River said and got up from the table. "Lets go, princess." You gritted your teeth at the nickname but just ignored it and walked with River.
About five minutes into their walk to Y/n's house, Y/n heard a twig snap in the woods and got really close to River whom just chuckled.
"You're a wuss." He said and put his arm around the scared girl.
"Whatever." She said and rolled her eyes, wrapping her arms around the boy with fright anyway. There was another snap and a rustling in the woods to follow in which Y/n buried her head in River's side. River laughed and looked down at the girl whom had her head dug into his side. "I'm scared." Y/n said her words getting muffled from River's jacket and side.
