*2 Weeks Later: After traveling back to the states to visit his mother during winter break, Torrey returns to Totsuki feeling rejuvenated and ready for the new semester. On the last Saturday of the break, he arrives at his lavish apartment to pack his few belongings...

Geez, there's more stuff in the pantry than in my closet. I don't want to take all this with me to Polaris, Torrey thinks.

While browsing the fridge, he hears the front door open, and before he can even turn to see who it is, he's grabbed from behind. A pair of soft, familiar objects press against his back.

"Kohai! I missed you," says Rindo Kobayashi. "I just knew that our love couldn't be kept apart any longer..."

"Senpai, it's the last weekend before the new semester starts. I literally had to come back."

"Sheesh, ya could have just humored me a little," says Rindo, frowning.

"I actually missed you, too. It was nice to be home, but after all the excitement of last semester...it almost felt boring."

"Oho! What are you, some kinda adrenaline junkie now? Let's build on that! We can take a trip ta somewhere awesome...like Dubai!"

"And miss the first day back? Not one of your better ideas, Senpai. Besides, uh..." says Torrey, clearly uncomfortable.

"What? Is there somethin' in my teeth?" says Rindo, gritting her teeth and picking at one with a fingernail.

"Very attractive. But no, that's not what I meant. Didn't you...you know...lose your council seat?"

"Oh...right. I guess I won't be able to do all that cool stuff anymore. Hey! We could'a avoided this problem if you'd have just taken the seat that Nakiri offered ya'!"

"Don't blame me for this!"

"Well, ya did lose the final match..."

"And you lost the one right before it!"

"Sigh...you're right. I guess we're just a couple a losers," says Rindo, shaking her head.

"We may have lost, but we both tried our best. Plus, the school should be a much better place with Erina in charge," says Torrey. For a brief moment, Rindo gives him a piercing glare.

"Hmm...I don't know why you have so much faith in her. Seems like just another spoiled rich girl to me," says Rindo, shrugging. A poor attempt at concealing her jealousy.

"C'mon, you don't mean that. You saw for yourself just how much she did to lead the Resistance to victory. Plus, I would think that your cooking ideals are more in line with hers than Azami's."

"Fine, fine. I take back what I said. Say...what are all these boxes for, anyway?"

"I'm just gathering my things. To take with me back to Polaris.

"..."

"..."

"Kohai..."

"Yeah?"

"Is this your idea of a joke?" says Rindo, dead-serious. It's always off-putting when she uses that tone, and Torrey's only heard it a few times.

"No...I just figured that since Central's finished, I might as well move back into my old dorm room. Azami's the one who forced me to move here in the first place."
