A/N: These two poems use six songs from the band The Paper Kites. They are: Bloom, St. Clarity, Tenenbaum, Young, Featherstone, and A Maker Of My Time. YouTube them. They're soft and sweet and that's just me. (Oh hey, I rhymed. Kind of. Would ya look at that...)
Puzzle:
Wake, the sound
Of your fleeting heart
Wake, your eyes are open
We walk in the dark
Taste, the feeling, of a fever soul
Breaking you in
Fill my lungs with sweetness
Only your glow
I know that you're
A timid Love, beneath the skin
Why do you live,
Like your love,
Wasn't meant for mine?
Gone to a different life
Down the line
Hate and lost
But love we've found.
To the coastline
Call them radiant
Call them mother's eyes
Homes for me to find
A cloudy wake, a young mistake
Lost, in a tall hedge maze
To a morning
Where the fields are painted gold
The trees are filled with memories
Of the feelings never told
I'm clothed in sleep
I can not see
It's a golden dream of mine
I rise with my morning eyes
But this space don't take my mind...
You carry
A sense of weariness, I see.
You're a bitter kind
Sour is your mind
For what you sow
Well, it's how I see you
When I see you from below
When you go,
What you leave,
It's a work of art
So I'll go but know,
I'll see you, down the line.
And we'll hate what we've lost,
But we'll love what we find
Rattled windows on the old green line
Made it... to the coastline
Leaves:
Feeble, with a broken plan
Make my bed on the great unsaid
Under neon lights
Where I wake
Walk in the dark
Trying so hard
Keep on losing
Head in a cloud
Your beguilling states, in endless heights
Shaking my fingers
Don't go out
Using my feet, to show you the movements
War of words
Only speak words of caution
Maybe they'll grow to be as we are?
But we can't look down,
To see what we were
We were like them before we were older
We need time to grow
