Armin remembers seeing a young boy formed by the waves when he was a child. When he's older, he discovers that boy is Eren, a young demigod who was cursed to become part of the ocean for the rest of time. He's desperate for escape and tells Armin there's a way to undo the curse. They set off to undo Eren's curse and hopefully afterwards Armin will be able to take the demigod back to his island to live with him forever.
