When Its Over

9. As the Days Pass

Jo Pov:

It's been two months since Hero asked me to be his girlfriend and two months since finding out I had cancer. It's getting worse I know it is. But Hero doesn't know that. And I'm not gonna tell him... well at least not today. Today I want to do something special for him because, for starters he has been nothing but great to me ever since I met him and second, as I said, today is our two month anniversary. I want to show him how much I love him. Well scratch that, I could never possibly show him just how much I love him. I love him that much.

It is currently 8:30am and Hero is still sleeping, I decide that I want to make him breakfast and bring it to him in bed. I make all his favorites, eggs, French toast, sausage and orange juice. When I have successfully made it all, I place it on a tray and make my way to our room.

When I enter I see him on his stomach sprawled out across the bed with his face buried deep into a stack of pillows. Soft snores leaving his mouth.

I take it upon myself to place the tray on top of our dresser, I pad over to him and I climb on top of his back straddling him. I place my hands on both his shoulders and I start to rub them lightly at first. I know he has been so stressed lately because of me and I hate it. I know I might not make it and I dont want him beating himself up over it.

As I continue to rub his shoulders, he starts to wake up. I lean close into his ear and whisper, "wake up my love, I made breakfast." I smile against his ear. I start to his his neck right below his left ear, making sure to use my tongue enough to tease him. No matter how much he denies it, I know he likes it when I tease him.

Suddenly I'm flipped over onto my back with my hands pinned by my sides by my head by him. He hovers over me and stares into my eyes. "Hello beautiful." He softly whispers, afraid to ruin the moment.

I gaze up at him smiling as I admire his perfect face. I lean up and plant a soft kiss onto his lips, when I pull back his eyes are still closed, reveling in the moment. "I love you," I softly say. His eyes open slowly and he says, "not as much as i love you." I smile. We stay like this for a moment, just gazing into the depths of each others eyes. Afraid to look away as if one of us might disappear if we do.

"I made breakfast," he nods and gets up reluctantly. I get up too and I go over to the dresser to grab the tray.

When he sees it, his eyes light up and he says, "aw baby, you didnt have to do this. This looks amazing."

"I wanted to do something for you since you are always doing things for me. Now eat up before it gets cold." I grab his face a kiss his lips softly, then retreat to the kitchen to grab my own plate and head back to the room to eat with him.

As we sit on the bed and eat I tell him, "I have a surprise for you tonight." A small smile tugs at his lips and he looks at me and says,"okay, oh and baby, happy two month anniversary." I smile big and we lean I'm and share a tender kiss.

When we are done, Hero heads off to take a shower and I head off to the kitchen to wash our dishes and clean up my mess. Usually Hero would accompany me in this process, but I really want to make this day about him. He protested at first but eventually I got him to go take a shower against his pleas of me joining him in there. I knew if I were to shower with him, there would be no cleaning up anytime soon. *wink wink

The cleaning process goes rather fast and I can here the shower still on. So I grab a piece of paper and a pen, I start writing on it. I write and write pouring my soul out. I'm going to give this letter to Hero when I'm ready. But for now, I hide it.

When I go into the room, Hero is sitting on the bed fully dressed with a book in his hands. He is reading and he looks so hot with his dark wet hair and emerald eyes focusing intently on the words before him. Before he can notice me, I take out my phone and silently take a photo of him. He is just so damn gorgeous, how could I not?

When I walk over to the dresser to grab clothes for myself her looks up from his book and sets it down. He then walks over to me wrapping him arms around my waist, my back pressed against his front. We stay like this for a while, just both of us loving the warmth of each other. I never want this to end...

Hero Pov:

It's now 5:30pm and Jo is being very vague on where she is taking me. I was told to wear comfy clothes, which has been the only hint I have gotten all day on where we are going. She demanded that she drive so that the surprise isn't ruined, I'm kind of glad for this because unlike Jo, I love surprises.

When we arrive we are in front of the cafe. "Wait, what are we doing here?" I say as we get out of the car.

I start walking towards the door but Jo grabs my arm quickly to stop me. "What?" I question in confusion. Jo grabs my hand leading us over to the side of the building, okay now I am really confused.

Jo then reaches up and pulls down a metal ladder connected to the building. "Follow me." She says looking over her shoulder as she starts to climb the ladder. I follow her hesitantly, but as we reach the top it feels as if the air in my lunges has been removed. Its gorgeous.

I rush over to her and pick her up in my arms and spin us around. "How-how did you do this?" I ask I awe. "I will never reveal my secrets!" She declares with enthusiasm. "But let's just say your boss, mike, was a big help." She smiles.

"Wait, mike helped you with this?!" She nods with a grin.

She plops of the bed and asks, "so what do you want to watch."

"Anything." I say breathlessly is awe of her. I cant stop staring at her wondering how I got so damn lucky.

"Like what you see?" She startles me out of my gawking at her.

"Yes very much," I reply to her as I try and use my most sexy voice. God, did I really just say sexy voice? Yes Hero, you really just said that.

I lay on the bed next to her and she picks up her phone choosing a movie. The phone is connected to a mini projector through bluetooth, which displays it on a screen in front of us. "Hmmm," Jo hums while tapping her pointer finger on her chin while trying to find a movie. "Oh! I know the perfect movie! It's called After," she says and clicks on a movie displaying people that look a lot like me and Jo.

As the movie plays, me and Jo snuggle up close to each other. She rests her head on my chest and I wrap my arms tightly around her.

I eventually hear light snores from her and I smile. She really is the best thing to have ever happened to me, I dont know what I would do if I lost her. I too fall asleep tightly holding Jo in her place on my chest.

I know it's been a little while since posting, but I have literally rewrote this chapter 3 times. I was just so stumped on how I wanted this chapter to steer the story. But I eventually got there. I hope you like it.
