People who put author's notes IN THE MIDDLE OF CHAPTERS FOR NO REASON. It completely ruins the atmosphere of the chapter. I once read a chapter which was at a really tense part, and it was actually getting really good. Then the atmosphere was completely screwed by a random author's note that said something irrelevant like "hey, those words rhymed! Lolll" and it completely killed the tension.
