"Kyla Morris, 27," Voight taps the smiling photo hanging on the whiteboard, "Her body was found a couple of hours ago. We were notified when the M.E. identified the pattern. Everything matches our killer. Raped, strangled, naked; the only thing on her was that necklace."
Antonio shakes his head, sitting atop his desk, "This guy's all over the place. I mean, what's his logic? None of these victims are connected. Mia was friends with both Kyla and Lindsey but says the women didn't know each other. None of the vics knew each other, so how is he picking them?"
"Maybe he's moving geographically?" Hailey suggests with a shrug. She exchanges a glance with Kim, explaining the theory the pair talked over earlier. "The first victim was from Lincoln Park, second two from Logan Park. Now two from the Gold Coast."
Adam shakes his head, a hand dragging over his chin, "This guy's killing his way through Chicago, one neighborhood at a time."
"Alright, run with it," Voight orders. "I want a map of everywhere these women lived, worked, went for coffee – everywhere. Track their phones, pull surveillance. Find me a link, and maybe we can predict where the next attack is gonna be." Turning to make his way back towards his office, Voight pauses and glances back, "Any luck tracking down Reid?"
"Nothing yet, Sarge," Atwater sighs, rifling through some papers on his desk. "This guy is hard to find. All of the phone numbers we have are disconnected, no car registered in his name. No living relatives. He works freelance, so he never goes anywhere regularly. No recent credit card charges that could give away any hangouts. His L.K.A. is an apartment on Addison — no one was home, but we got uniforms sitting on the place in case he shows up."
Nodding, Voight continues to his office, calling over his shoulder, "Alright, I want this guy found. He's our only lead, and we gotta clear him if we wanna move on."
